I didn't say "He shouldn't make mutas." I said he should invest some of the money he spends on mutas on infestors instead. You don't need 20 infestors. If Nestea made a few to FG he would've been able delay pushes, dwindle marine counts, build up baneling counts, and drain medivac energy.

I think one of the worst things that Korean zergs do is make lings and send them into marine balls. That's essentially throwing away minerals.

I'm starting to think that Zerg absolutely must utilize baneling drops and mixing in roaches. This endless massing of mutas just does not work vs good terrans. It's SO much gas and it gets killed so quickly. Zerg absolutely needs some more tanking power in there and roaches mop up tanks jsut as well as mutas do if the marines are out of the picture. The roaches have the dual function of being pretty bang-on at killing marines in smaller numbers as well.

I forget who but there was a ZvT on Jungle Basin the set right after Idra vs Jinro, and the Zerg crushed the terran in similar positions with the terran taking the third and PFing it while the Zerg took third and going for fourth. Muta/ling/bling is really maneuverable but it just doesn't have any staying power. Roaches also don't clump up with the lings during the attacks so if lings are taking the tank shots, roaches are behind mopping it all up. It just spreads the money out on the map a lot more, which I think zerg desperately need vs this much splash damage.

Also, I think the ridiculous micro Korean terrans possess are just negating baneling and infestor play when those are the only real counters Zerg has to mass marines. There's a serious problem going on with that dynamic where tanks counter banelings and infestors extremely well yet Zerg doesn't have any cost efficient counter. They absolutely must have a better eco, which many of the maps do not support. And even with a better eco, much of it is negated by terrain features.

Its just really hard to use Fg effectively vs tanks. Also, even if you get a good FG, you still might loose an infestor, given their cost its quite detrimental.

FG range is 9 btw. You can sneak up on tanks with burrow and toss a few infested terran. Even if he scans his tanks autofire on infested terran because they're closer. Infestors work very well against tanks. And even if they don't, you DO have other units. So you can basically fungal marines and then clean up tanks with slings/roaches.

Also, Terran love baiting with marines. Fungaling a group of Marines to death always makes me smile.

Anyone else notice the interesting parallels to IdrA vs Jinro? Game 1 is a crushing victory for the Zerg on XNC, then loses due to a bunker rush and close position Shakuras backdoor push, then ends up losing 1-3 because of Jungle Basin.
