Ret is the only one Idra practiced with, I guess all that trash talk vs Koreans is starting to bite him in the ass. =/ Won't be a problem once the EG house gets set up. Those guys are every bit as good as the Koreans LOL. No. They really aren't. It's just mindblowing. Makes me wonder how much EG has to fail (as a team, so not only clinging to Idra's individual success) for people to get off hyping their roster which is sub-par even by American standards. =/ Unless they buy a whole new roster, the house in Korea won't do much good. That's maybe a bit bold statement. It's however clear that idra is byfar their best player, saying they are subpar or worse than koreans however... I think Code A is making it quite clear, there's plenty of room for foreigners in there, and the best in code S. This is the beginning of the first round of code A. I think it will go way uphill from here, once all the lesser players get weeded out. Its funny but Code B prelims are going to be INSANELY tough I think, there are a really high number of extremely strong players that just werent good enough for GSL 1, 2, 3 or got unlucky in the prelims to the last one etc. Like, ST_Bomber is one of the best terrans in Korea right now but hes never even been in GSL and there are lots of others like him.
I'm super curious to see how Bomber stacks up, I saw him play @YGosu and was super impressed and he did pretty well in that Gainward tournament too.
imo until there's been a few promotion/demotion cycles you aren't going to get a clear picture of the true level of Code A (or S to an extent); there's obviously some people in there right now who have been surpassed by other players quite comfortably. I'd expect the average skill present to pick up drastically over the next couple of seasons, and as a result feel that evaluating how easily foreign players could fit in is a somewhat flawed exercise currently.

I might be wildly off the mark but I think there's some kind of promotion/demotion matches for Code A players too, in which case I presume he'll have to play vs the top players from the Code B prelim to retain his place?

Yup, it's really picked up. I also think Tastosis have done a pretty good job of commentating more on what the observer is showing than on whatever they've caught flicking around on their screens, which keeps it rather more fluid.

Also a surprising number of pro terrans get caught out targeting PFs in TvT with seige tanks. Theres no reason to target it. It'll be automatically acquired unless theres an enemy unit around, and if theres an enemy unit around _thats more important_. Im pretty sure they ignore enemy units always, and just target the PF ;o Maybe Im just an idiot.
I'm not sure what Elwars point was but I think he said that there is no need to target the PF's since it is always targeted anyway, his last sentence implying (badly worded) that it's the enemy units that you should be targeting if they are present. I could be wrong though.

Jinro vs MarineKing ... damn that's gonna be an awesome game to see. Best luck to Jinro and all I ask is don't die to his early attacks. It's probably going to be Marines and Tanks ... but again, who knows we'll just have to wait and see on Saturday.

Thx for this post btw, it helped me grab ahold of myself actually :O!

I feel so sorry for Littleboy. He should have won the first game but then he lagged out and had to be replayed. Because of that he didn't make it out of code A .

Well, it's called the Clide build because he lost so badly to a random shrub with this build. You should probably consider yourself lucky it's not called the Jinro build in that case

Man, Jinro can't catch a break this season. He'd have been better off getting second in his group. On the other hand, I sincerely doubt anyone in his group is happy about having to face him.

I have faith and hope in his TvT against MarineKing and a possible RainbOw ... but has he improved his TvP enough to take on MC. Difference is, this time if they somehow meet, it's a Bo1, not a Bo7 so probably maps will also play a role. But damn the TvT's aren't easy as well.
