Nice, I'm glad + Show Spoiler + to see the 2 foreigners advance! I was abit disappointed to seeboth of them in the same group at the start as I wanted both of them to advance to the next round. But I'm really glad to see how it worked out.
Thanks again for the recap, I could only watch the first 3matches before work, so this recap warms up my heart.

Is it worth to buy premium package just for this day? I'm so pumped that both Jinro and Idra made it. But I couldn't watch the games because in the night before I was FUCKING WRITING MY BSC THESIS and I only managed to watch game 1 code A. After that I was so exausted (didn't sleep for like 30+ hours) that I felt asleep. ARGH! Epic fail.

If "we" are all aware of this, why is none complaining to Blizzard/Gom. I see most people do not care about Bo1. I guess Zerg players after whining for months just decided to give up on this game and now only T&P are left....
Games were fun to follow (although I could only listen to them as I am at work during the games), I will all the best to both of them in the next round, although with this system I do not expect Idra to pass his group. If by some miracle he does he has a much better chance to go to ro4 or finals after that.

But now he is going to roll MC, obliterate him. How cool would it be that Jinro gets first place in group D by beating MC? Putting a crack in MC his confidence, and then Grack beating MC in ro8.
After that Jinro vs Idra for Code S finals!
Boxer, Jinro, Idra, Zenio, Nestea, MC are for me the best player from r64.

Yes for sure. And even moreso because the upcoming matches also look quite promising.

Sure there are upsets but every sports has them.
Map imbalances ok u can whine about that. But you are saying Zerg has it so hard?
There are 4 Protoss and 3 Zerg is this such a huge difference? If you talked about Terran okay maybe u have some valid proof to say why they are so strong or something but saying that there is only T&P left is ridiculous.
Just stop the nonsense please.
The distributions are 3Zergs 4Protoss and 9 Terrans. No Terran has won a GSL yet while 2 zerg and a protoss has won one. Last 3 seasons Terran was dominating the top8 of each season. If anything I would say that Terran should be the ones whining instead.

I'm not sure, but that's what the announcement said about the format. Which is strange, considering as you mentioned, last season Ro8's were Bo5s and Ro4's were Bo7s.
(might have something to do with the Code A matches being broadcasted simultaneously.)

Format is like this in the GSL S league: Groupstage 1 is Bo1 Groupstage 2 is Bo1 Round of 8 is Bo3 Round of 4 is Bo5 Finals is Bo7
I looked it up fast in the gsl 2011 tour news.

And I am the only one that sees that as the fault of the Bo1 system combined with stupid unbalanced maps? Leenock lost to Genius and Rainbow on Shakuras and Xel'naga Caverns. TheWind lost to HongUn and Boxer on XC and Metalopolis (and IIRC, cross positions). Check lost to Ensnare on Shakuras FD got himself eliminated with the spinecrawler positioning error against MVP and a poor game against Zenio (and that also would've meant he went through in place of another Zerg.) All these maps are incredibly balanced. The only guy who can genuinely complain is Kyrix I think, because he got pylon walled in on Steppes (IIRC). Only 3 Zergs going through is hardly because of unbalanced maps. As for the Bo1 system, OSL, MSL and WCG do it for the group stages of SC1 and no one ever complains. To be honest, I prefer this system better than OSL or MSL's system. It's got a unique twist to it. Leenock's loss was his fault. TheWind got 4gates as I remember on a map perfect for that. He then got totally outplayed by Boxer. Didn't watch Check game today. Haha, in the case map balance is not to your favor then it is bad spinecrawler position. That happened only because of the bad map position (as bad as Steppes of War), and as Boxer showed us if you are a better player you do not need help from the map to beat Zergs. His game against Zenio might not have happened if FD was given a fair fighting chance against IMMvp.
Bo1 might work for SC1, but that game is much different, better balanced and got much better maps. I it pointless to compare it with Sc2.

Fun but not gonna happen. Love Jinro, but MC is a beast. Looking forwards to the match either way though

i don't get people who whine a lot about imba maps, imba units, imba swearing, imba this, imba that...
Not saying that blizzard shouldn't do anything about it... the thing is it's already in place at the moment. Gandalf said: All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us (lol). So chill people, relax, and the game will evolve. It's only like 6months old.
For me, i just enjoy the games, whether they're cheesy or macro-type.. Like today's very exciting ones esp. jinro vs ensnare.
