So the admins decided to prevent a situation where there wouldnt be a final and use this kind of ruleset. They are just following Morrows own advice. But I personally wouldnt care if the guy who went out in RO128 who had a shot at winning. Would make one of the most epic moments I ever watched. Oh cmon man. Admins should really clean this shit up before it gets out of hand. I dont wanna say anything cause obviously im from Sweden and then it will sound like im just defending MorrwW because of that. Lets just agree its a bad situation, we'll see how it turns out i guess. But keep it down.

This is actually funny ![]() Edit: Germany vs Sweden? Nah, just different opinions on the matter, a lot of Germans are against TLOs freewin.

That was a special case wherein winning a single tourny wouldn't garner any prizes. You had to win a series of tournies in order to get anything out of it. In that instance, morrow and sjow went straight to the admins to see whether leaving w.o. in the finals would be allowed. That behavior wouldn't really benefit anyone in an ordinary online tournament.

In every stage of the tournament, you want to make sure the brackets are full. Tournaments are sponsored because they are watched. The more games that can be broadcasted, and the more good players remaining, the more people will watch. Secondly, the value of the win from an earlier round is less than the value of a win from a later round. Giving a free win to MorroW is a huge advantage for him compared to giving a free win to TLO from the previous round. Neither player "deserves" this advantage, but it needs to be given to someone, so give it to the person who it will give the least advantage to. Thirdly, nobody would be complaining if BratOK conceded the win before the match had concluded. This happens all the time. Why is it so different when he concedes after the match? In short, the solution being used gives the best chance for us to see the best player win the tournament, which is what everybody SHOULD want. Providing a replacement player is always better than a free win.

I think they are playing more games at a time ... so it doesn't matter if morrow got freewin or not, you would see the same amount of streamed games ....
