Congratulations on the wins today ROOT Gaming!

Grats ROOT! Two big wins today.
GJ to fanatic for giving us a great 7 game series. Really entertaining to watch.

Come on, Drewbie was so mannered. Gretorp dropped out twice and they were mannered enough to allow a third re-game.
As far as the blue flame hellions in game one - I doubt this was a game winner and Drewbie was a bit ahead in tech vs just finished expo for Gretorp. Even if it was an advantage, Gretorp dropping out before materializing it certainly does not qualify as a win. We've seen blue flame helions in bases multiple times and this does not decide the game in many, many games. So do not dis an otherwise great clan tournament game because of this.
Great games by all players and do it again guys soon (the clan war thing)

Will the VODs be up soon? The event wasn't on the TL Calendar so by the time I realized it was live, I tuned in to find gretorp in an impossible situation against drewbie.

Great series. I hope both teams can at least be happy they entertained the many people who watched. Congrats to both teams.
|
all skeptical. drewbie won where it mattered, just a shame for that series of events to happen.
congrats root.

Honestly like here at SGL we haven't had the smoothest year when it came to things earlier on. But based on what happened in the finals, I don't think anyone has any right to flame SGL. The decision was completely correct based on what happened. GG's on to the next season, congrats ROOT and fnatic for a nice series and a good season.

will there be vods =)
and what was the final score
|
root won it 4-3 in an overall good match , sucks that there are bnet issues though T_T !

ROOT [4-3] Fnatic
I would like to thank iCCup for shoutcasting and streaming the grand final! You can find the battle report here. They will be casting the SGL exclusively next season so you will be seeing a lot more of them!
I cant thank them enough! Special thanks to our sponsors ]Bigfoot Networks, ZOWIE GEAR, and ItsGosu.com for the support they have given us this season. I encourage everyone to support these companies as they have given the SGL a lot of support over the months!
After the SGL Grand Finals I did some interviews, first being with ROOT.Catz, the owner of ROOT Gaming who started off their clan war against FnaticMSI. TT1. I asked them a few questions about the clan war. Here is my interview with Catz:
SGL: Hi Catz and congratulations on winning the SGL season 1! How do you feel about how your players performed during this clan war? Catz: Aside from myself, they all did good in this match so obviously I'm very happy/proud. SGL: Yes and with this win you will be taking home $200 dollars and four ZOWIE HAMMERS for your team. What were your thoughts coming in to the war? Were you expecting a close victory?Catz: Yes, out of of all teams we could have faced Fnatic is by far our biggest competition, so I was expecting a close score, but i was hoping for a 4-2 or 4-1, I think qxc should've/could've won that game vs sen on Delta. SGL: With SGL Season 2 coming up how do you feel about the new teams participating? Do you see ROOT having trouble taking another season of the SGL?Catz: I think our biggest threat will still be FnaticMSI, they have a fantastic roster, losing to anyone else I'd consider a blunder.
I also got the chance to talk with FnaticMSI.SeN after he took two maps against ROOT during this clan war. Here's what he had to say after the match:
SGL: Hello Sen thanks for your time today! Your team FnaticMSI just placed 2nd in the SGL losing to ROOT 3-4. You took two out of your team's 3 maps in the clan war. How do you feel about your performace today?
SeN: It's disappointing that Gretorp and I couldn't win the last match for Fnatic. My performance vs. KiWiKaKi was good for me. And about vs. Qxc Delta Quadrants is so imbalanced for terran I just went cheese and I succeeded. About the last match vs. Drewbie I should have won after I got such a good income compared to him I had like 30 probes and he had only 18 or 19. I will try to improve my protoss in the future once for when I play on that map again.
SGL: I noticed after Drewbie picked Steppes for his match against you, you picked protoss. Was there any specific purpose to that?
SeN: I dont have any specific purpose other than the fact that that map is too imba for ZvT and I always play protoss for fun when I practice on the korean ladder so my protoss isn't so bad in my eyes ^^ and sentry is imba! I got sentry I win!
SGL: Thanks for the interview Sen! Good luck in GSL next season do you have anything else to add?
SeN: <3 to anyone who supports me
Once again congratulations to ROOT for winning the league and we hope to see both of you in the finals again next season! Now for the league awards!
A few weeks ago I asked around and got votes for the following awards:
Most Valuable Player: The player who accomplished the most in the SGL and made the biggest difference in clan wars. Most Improved Player: The player who improved the most while in season one of the SGL. Most Valuable Manager: The manager who was the most organized, mannered, and all around great for a team in the SGL. 'Funnest' Team: The team who everyone enjoyed playing against the most.
The winner of the MVP award blew everyone out of the water. He received the most votes by a landslide and the winner is FnaticMSI's TT1. After dominating teams all season long he received the most votes and is crowned SGL Season 1's Most Valuable Player.
The winner for the MIP I couldn't agree with more. I saw this player grow from the first day I saw him play and he has been all-killing teams ever since then. He is the Zerg player from Evil Geniuses, StrifeCro! His most recent accomplishments have been very impressive which include coming in 2nd in the BigFoot Network's SGL Pre-Playoff Invitational!
The MVM was the closest running for the votes. There were a lot of great managers this season and the votes were all very close. But the manager who came out on top was rSGaming's Vhalin! He handled himself with manner and class right to the very end and we wish him and his team good luck in the season two qualifiers!
The 'Funnest Team' award goes to one of the teams who have already qualified for the season two. So you will be experiencing more 'fun' coming your way! The team who received the most votes for this category was Evil Geniuses. With classy players and management this team stood above the rest and represented themselves very well this season. I wish you guys the best of luck for upcoming seasons in not only the SGL but other clan leagues you're partaking in.
With all that out of the way I am VERY happy that season one is over. We went through a lot of ups and downs and it's all finally coming to a close. I certainly hope things will run more smoothly next season but life is unpredictable. I hope everyone has enjoyed this season as much as I did and I hope we can only improve for the future. I would like to thank the SGL staff for all the hard work they did this season because without the people who help voluntarily we would never have gotten this far. The league is always growing and I hope we can become the most superior SC2 league that eSports has to offer.

Good stuff!
Any plans on increasing the prize pool? $200 for the level of talent in this league is shamefully low (I know that isn't your fault, I'm just stating a fact). Best of luck to everyone in season 2, going to watch VODs.

when am i getting my mvp trophy?

We are looking at increasing the prize money for season 2 to about $500 for 1st place.

I could make you a certificate? it would be completely legit. Or at least as legit as my 5th Form mip soccer certificate.
