Yep, saying curse words on broadcast TV can get you a big fine in the US. On cable though you can't get fined but a lot of cable stations don't allow cursing or certain curse words because of advertisers. On some cable channels they censor "fuck" but not "shit" and on premium cable (HBO, Showtime) they don't censor anything.

Well the thing is that translation from language to language can be pretty awkward, especially since the word "negro" still literally means black in a lot of languages, whereas that pretty much faded from the English language.
