He basically encouraged people to follow their heart's if they want to do e-Sports. Even in Korea it is still looked down on by many people, who ask why do you play a game as a job? You should grow up. But John says you should ask those people, are you truly happy in your job following your dream like I am? Do you have a fan who will make a banner just for you? He closed by saying if you're nervous that you will be all alone if you try to do e-Sports, don't worry. I (John), Dan and Nick will support you. Everyone here at GOM will support you, we love you guys.
Nice summary, it was indeed a epic speech.

Very disappointing games overall, i just saw foxer do desperate/gimmicky strats that honestly was not $87k worthy. I'm pretty sure everyone would have liked to see a good 7 games rather than these desperate attempts for wins like he did. He played the game as he knows it. Haven't you watched his game this season?
You're all full of it.
He didn't do "gimmicky" on LT or Scrap.

Thanks guys, great games even though i wanted BoxeR to win, NesTea deserved it just as much. Looking forward to season 3.

Disagree completely. These were some of the best games of the GSL. TvZ is all about the Zerg seeing what he can get away with, and in these games we saw the limits tested o build timings on various maps. This was a very important series for the TvZ metagame, and it will cause ripples for a very long time.
Agree with the disagree completely. While some of the games might've been short, definitely learned what can and can't be done at the high levels of gameplay pros dish out. Enjoyed every minute of it...even though I wanted Foxer to win
Also, be proud to do your part in promoting esports! Esports on ESPN<#> and other sports networks around the world in 20 years or less...mark my works...
EDIT: correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't there gonna be a change to stim very soon with the next patch? haha if so guess TvZ metagame won't be affected for as long as you thought

Against zerg, you can't play a macro game against zerg. Maybe Foxer can't, but I know there are other Terrans that can. But early attacks aren't the same as all-in cheese.
I would love to know who are those mythical creatures.

A couple of games were cheese though. Did you miss the part where he sent the majority of his SCVs with his marines? Obv. you dont understand what cheese is. If it's not cheese, whats his follow up if his attack goes wrong? And don't say mules, derp. game 7 was an all-in not a cheese It was a cheesy all-in. The difference in outcome between game 1 and 7 in spite of the more favorable spawning positions in game 7 for that build pretty much proves that if, in game 1, Nestea had scouted and known an all-in with SCVs was coming he would have responded differently by taking the attack more seriously and won.

I'm going to forever remember GSL2 as the Shadow Moses Incident. The last Protoss going out in Ro8, three Terrans and one Zerg in the Ro4, a Zerg winning the tournament... all that's different are the names.

Yes, if you have zero knowledge about pop culture.
In other news, when is Blizzard gonna fix Invincible in WoW? I can still see him.

I think Foxer just didn't have the stamina and he knew it even as he came into game one. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the first five games but six and seven were pretty lackluster. Hopefully he'll be able to make a more impressive showing in the next GSL finals.
John's speech was awesome though.

For everyone that missed John's speech, basically what he said was that he thought what Nestea did was fantastic not only because of his incredible gameplay but also because he's doing what he believes in. Then he continued saying that gaming is still by a lot of koreans considered a waste of time and said that he had been unemployed for about a year and a half while playing games and his friends telling him that he was wasting his time before he got employed by GOM. Epicly ended it with "but who's laughing now?". Finally he encouraged everyone watching to keep supporting E-sports, don't listen to people calling you nerds, instead be proud of being a nerd and doing what you love.
Really you can't recap it accurately in writing, I hope they post the part with John's speech somewhere because he spoke really well and it was very inspirational to the whole new generation E-sports scene.
