Why are day9 and DJwheat praising those games so much, they may be fun to watch, but they are NOT the games of the century. C'mon they are playing so badly.

because a commentator cant just say 'holy shit these guys are awful' when they are probably getting paid to cast?

Yes I thought that too, but... they are praising them too much even so. Wish Artosis was casting that, he would not hesitate to say what has to be said.

LOL I can't imagine Artosis casting that

I would pay money for an IdrA/Artosis dual cast of these games.

Internet dropped for most of this tournament and now tuning in to this TvT. Wow, quite a contrast after having solely watched GSL for a while.

On another note, the games are still surprisingly entertaining.

This x1000. Both players made big mistakes, but I'd like to see the people calling this bronze level play make the divorced tactical decision under that much pressure.

Edit: Torch's late game is pretty weak though.

I didn't mean to "trash talk", but long games often are indicators of parity in level of play during the game. I think the underlying theme of the posts in this thread regarding g3 between torch and lzgamer is finding where that level of play is.

Edit:
This is also the first time I've seen torch play. So take my comments with a grain of salt.

This is by far the dumbest argument that continues to be used for some reason. You do not need to be a top player in order to criticize someone. You don't need to be a chef in order to criticize someone's cooking. I don't need to be top diamond to point out very sloppy play

And then Torch forgetting to siege and getting torn through. That's following up an advantage with a blunder.

Just because some people in this thread can't do better, it doesn't make them wrong.

It is painfully obvious that the mistakes in these games are extremely bad and you don't have to be good to know that, and to contend you must be is both a fallacy and plain wrong.

It makes sense to say "Torch/LZ did X, Y, and Z wrong." It's really ignorant to say, "these guys are bronze/silver level" when they'd wipe the floor with you all. And then to persist in flaming me.

Torch never seems to build any planetary fortresses. One planetary at the gold and this would have been a different game. He doesn't seem to defend much at all.

who would consider this as top level play? It's an exaggeration to say it's bronze level but it's definitely not top level. I'm saying that you don't need to be better than someone in order to point out their mistakes

Yeah dumb argument, I know it's all so sane for someone who has absolutely no idea about pro-gaming, whether it be bronze, copper, wood, or ore league. Yep, certainly seems like it's a great idea for them to assess a situation of they don't know anything about!
