Very mind gamey from Grack..... You're totally wrong. HuK doesn't do cheese because of those 'mindgames', he doesn't do cheese or at least I've never seen him proxy gate/stargate/cannon rush. He'd rather rely on his macro/timing pushes where he is a lot more solid than do a cheese. A win is a win and if you are a good player who wins most of his games straight, why would you gamble with a cheese? I mean, cheese do work from time to time and are good to keep you unpredictable but they are a coin-toss in the end. They require a lot less knowledge/APM/"Skills" to execute usually.

As Take-san would say, it might seem like we have one winner here, but in fact we have two losers.

As Take-san would say, it might seem like we have one winner here, but in fact we have two losers. Idra is doing very well in Korea. You have to realize that he has broken into the GSL twice.... where around a thousand people attempt to qualify each time? First time he won a match. Second time he won 2 matches (and progressed further than Fruit Dealer). I believe he could beat several of the other players in there, but maybe not the zergs (his worst matchup). We've already seen him beat slayers_boxer. He also performs quite well on the korean ladder. So I think the picture right now is more like this: Top 10-15 koreans > Idra > most koreans > north america

Idra performs well against strategies that he saw, and studied. As soon as someone pulls something new and unorthodox on him, he loses.

Huk is newbie, even at SC BW, Idra has achieve some reputation, now look at Huk. He is Nothing, not even a SC BW pro, just an amateur playing the newbie SC2 game Huk is NOOB, Idra is PRO. In interview, he wants rematch but he just loses to idra EVERY SINGLE TIME.

So, are you saying because IdrA whines at CHEESE (don't get it confused with early pressure) makes it harder for other players to deal with that they wouldn't to try and do whatever they want to win? Man, you make it sound as if players can't man the fuck up and ignore trash-talk and simply play the game.

If you look at it, SanZenith achieved almost the same as Idra, two times breaking into GSL, and we all know how he performed, and his overall quality. Idra won against Boxer while he was still getting the hang of SC2. Give it few months and he won't be getting even close to beating boxer. Idra performs well against strategies that he saw, and studied. As soon as someone pulls something new and unorthodox on him, he loses. Wow man, just shows how little you follow the scene. I'm going out and saying that IdrA is the top MACRO zerg in the world. No one wants to play this guy in a macro game, no one. Remember oGsTOP? #2 ranked oGs player after IrOn? Got roflstomped by IdrA when they played straight up. Made him look like a silver player. Aside from the recent Foxer upset (more to do with Cool, losing his Cool then Foxer stomping him) TOP was seen as the only Terran player who could compete with Cool. TOP seems to have Cool's number on a straight up game but cannot hope to win against IdrA straight up. Ofc, I'm just using this as an example of how little info you seem to have. Koreans know IdrA is completely dominant past 15mins and it shows through their betting system showing IdrA a favorite in almost every matchup. Please do not under appreciate Grack, kid is smart. And is representing foreigners well. Top 3 Zerg overall imo.

Don't hate on HuK, there is an obvious skill difference there but it is to be expected when you have been training with the best of the best over in Korea for sometime now. HuK has a lot of potential, it is going to be interesting to see how far he progresses once he moves to Korea.

Wanted to see if anybody could find the replays for the tournament, or even if they will be released. I think the problems that Huk is having against Idra is because Huk wants to play against idra in a macro game (as stated in the one of the previous sotg, I believe it was the one right before MLG DC). but Huk is more prone to make mistakes when playing against Idra. ( don't know why, I'm watching the replays from DC and trying to find more of Huk's versus higher level players). Blizzcon Huk v. Loner g1, Huk gets supplyblocked 2-3 times @ 116 and 124, which leads to the food differential between him and loner that led to the loss. I keep watching the last battle @ the game around 14:40. Huk chooses to focus the stalkers on the 2 vikings. There was enough energy on the sentry to do another ff to get a better concave. I think the pdd was the biggest thing though, as the tide of the battle shifted most during that. Blizzcon Huk v. Loner g2, the food difference starts after a failed proxy 4 zealot, but regained after a very effective defense of the marine + tank push. Huk has the lead and then putting aggressive pressure on Loner's expansion. Loner catches up in macro while Huk is transitioning to Colossus. Huk loses the bigger battle (PDD in use during this battle as well, but I think most of it was the sieged tanks taking out the stalkers). I think Huk's colossus play comes a little bit too early, (<- copy cat of day9 apparently ![]() But as we know, Huk is a mass gamer. I think once he gets practice against people who are well practiced in mechanics, we'll start to see a dramatic increase in his skill level. I think we'll see him do well in later GSL, GSL 3 might be too soon. But he's a great player and I really liked his immortal in g1 versus Machine (or Slush I'll go back and look) I think it was.
