Meh, finals, last game spoiler... this is my ~950 diamond idiotic opinion.
+ Show Spoiler +Is there any reason Huk didn't go phoenixes and just cannon up his expo? Snipe drones to limit Idra's econ, mass up some stalkers so roaches can't break down the front, then transition into carrier/mothership... as long as his expo doesn't die (maybe get a void ray to deter the roaches for a while?), Idra's already invested a ton of resources into roaches.
This is something I've been doing lately with a pretty good success rate- granted, I usually get warp gate before weapons, and I have no idea how it work against someone with reallly good macro. + Show Spoiler +But I feel like what Huk did was perhaps the worst possible response- fast expand with only one cannon? Doesn't seem like it has any chance at all of succeeding. If the front goes down, he's already taken way too huge of a hit.. I was pretty shocked when he didn't immediately build a stargate.

No. Huk doesn't care if Idra complains or not, as with any other real competitor. Huk is playing to win. The first game Idra went muta and was overconfident and lost. After that, Idra started going roach, and was able to deal with early pressure.
You really don't know what you are talking about

The merciless destroyer Idra strikes again. And damn that notebook is >$1000 and wayyy better than my desktop.

are there any replays or vods from the Idra vs Huk matches?

This comment is just weird. Idra beat HuK straight up and not only outmacroed, but also easily outplayed him. Why he lost the first game is beyond me - probably due to jetlag and having had an 16 hour flight just before the match - but he impressively demonstrated the skill difference between himself and HuK in the three games that followed.
There was no "mind game", he just was the better player overall.

Idra lost and won nothing by playing huk (except pride) correct? Hilarious how EG set it up so Idra was like the 'final boss' of the tournament.
Well doesn't every game need a villian?

I find that the history/rivalry between Huk and Idra makes the games even more entertaining to watch. Who isn't looking forward to a rematch? Who dosn't want to see Zenio and Idra's next match? Whether or not you approve of the actions of these players and what has been said, there is a high entertainment value that adds to the already riveting action of two highly skilled players.
For the manner experts (i'm a bit of a noob on the finer points of SC manner etiquette), would Idra not attacking at all and just mining and creeping out the entire map have been worse than bringing the drones?
For the sake of creative speculation, if Idra had chosen to write out a message with his units instead of attack the main with his drones, what should he have written and with which units?

At least I remember the casters mentioning that the players were playing from the comfort of their own practice set-ups.
The mind game argument isn't very persuasive... why would any competitor care at all about his opponents' complaints?

However, SC2 being more of a gentleman's game that the majority of other games played online, I can see a little truth to this. I don't think any of the top players would like to be seens as "one trick ponies" or "cheesy players" in the eyes of their peers. Sure, at the end of the day, the all mighty dollar rules all, but with the SC2 community it seems that the public image is important. I do not think it would be "good" for the esport if cheesy play was the norm in tournaments.
These thoughts are coming from a complete noob both to the SC world and RTS games in general, so its very likely I'm wrong.
This is nonsense.
Winning is what matters

It was an online event but Idra just got off a Flight as he flew into Arizona literally 1 hour before his match. I guess he flew in early for MLG dallas,

Sorry if this has been answered previously, can't find it -- will the replays be uploaded anywhere or have they been already?
Dying to see SLush vs KiWi.

Right, so he suffered from jetlag during the first game, but then somehow recovered for the next 3?
He was just as outplayed in the first game as HuK was in the next ones. First game wasn't even close tbh. Next games he negated HuK's early pressure with his own, and HuK had no solution for that.

Game1 was literally the first game he played since getting back so it wasn't so much jetlag rather he just had to get warmed up which is why he played sloppy in the first game and HuK beasted him. He picked up quiet fast though the next three games.

You guys are all wrong as to why he lost game 1. He went mutas. If he had gone roach it would have looked like every single other game in the series. Especially the one on metal.
