Hi guys,

I've written a TeamLiquid to Google Calendar converter and made it public so you can import it into your own Google Account.

This is how it works:

In your Google Calendar go to:

Other Calendars -> Add -> Add by URL

And copy & paste the following URL:

+ Show Spoiler +
http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/qd3c0vud9vp01cuuo6cdset59g%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

This will add the TeamLiquid calendar to your Google account.

Now you can do things like, setup notifications or view it on your smartphone's calendar app.

This would not be possible without SonuvBob's and Hot_Bid's help. So props to them!

Is there something inadequate with the web calendar that I'm missing? I guess if I used google calendar for everything this would be nice. Good work.

I was asked for this by a few people because they wanted Google Calendar integration. Web Calendar works great, in fact this would not be possible without it.

Just a few features you get by using the link I posted, over what the Web Calendar already provides:

- the link I posted is in the: ical format, this means you can now import the TL calendar into applications like Thunderbird, Evolution, Drupal, Apple's iCal..

- Google Calendar provides features like Email or Text Message notifications.

- Smartphones also have Google Calendar/iCal integration so you can have all the TL Calendar events right in your iPhone's or Android's calendar.

Nice work. I hope it's automated so you don't actually have to add each event manually. Gonna sync it with my phone too.

If anyone wants preview: https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=qd3c0vud9vp01cuuo6cdset59g@group.calendar.google.com&mode=AGENDA (PST) (EST) (CET)

And embed code if a mod wants to embed it to the OP:
<iframe src="http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=qd3c0vud9vp01cuuo6cdset59g@group.calendar.google.com&mode=AGENDA" style="border: 0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

I think there is something wrong with the time parsing or something, most events look ok, but "TG Sambo-Intel Global Starcraft II League Season 2 Opening Day" has the wrong time. The other GSL times look wrong also.

I can confirm that the time is correct. Make sure you're viewing using the correct timezone.

Always wanted to do this myself. I'm glad someone else did it though.

Is it directly synced to the website calender or is there someone updating manually?

I'm having a problem accessing the TL calendar on my Android phone and I can't figure out why.

For some reason the TL calendar (also GLHF calendar) doesn't appear on my phone, but other public calendar that I added seem to be fine (for example: this calendar).

In Google calendar it shows up fine:

But not displayed in the phone settings:

Anyone has a clue why? Is it because of some sharing/permission setting?

Nice, that worked, thanks you.

I hope that keeps being automated with that way because I dontt see TL caldendar at "other calendars".

Is there some way to configure that so the past events are deleted automatically?

By default your phone only updates your personal calendar. Open calendar and go to settings and hit calendars and you should have the option to display this one. If you don't see it listed you need to do a sync with your account.

Is there any way to make the scheduled event stretch for its entire duration? Atm, an event starts at 2pm but only lasts for 15 mins or so in the calender. Is it possible to make the event show for the whole run time? Take day 2 MLG DC for example, we know it goes on for about 11 hours but the allotted time in the calender is only 15 mins. I know a lot of events only have a start time but some actually have schedules and it would be sweet to be able to see in calender how long they stretch, especially since the "More details"-info does not take time zones into account..

Either way, I ain't knockin' the product, it's great and I truly appreciate it! Double thanks.

@Cuddle

Unfortunately the feed the script uses to convert events to Google calendar doesn't contain the event duration, so I have decided to use a default of 1 hour.

If the folks who run the TL calendar include the duration in the future I will make sure the duration gets converted to Google calendar as well.

Finally got my sync with Android works (after removing and adding back many times). Not sure what went wrong the first time. It looks great as a widget, will post a screenshot later.

I noticed that some events are duplicated. Example: today's day9 daily. They have the same time, title and description.

Yeah, I've also noticed multiple duplicate events. I suspect some kind of collision detection fail.

I am working on the fix for the duplicate entries. I am being careful in how I approach this issue because I don't want to just delete the duplicate events, because people may have notifications setup on them.

I should have a fix in place in the next few days.

Thank you so much for continuing to work on this! I got a little discouraged when I saw the duplicating, thinking that we were stuck with it since no one would want to put the extra work into it. Bravo, sir!

This is awesome. TL calendar on my blackberry! Sweet.

Seems to work easily (only took a few clicks literally to get it syncing on my phone) but I noticed that some events are getting repeated a bunch. Very very minor issue overall.

Thanks for this <3

I'm getting lots and lots of duplicated entries [Link].
I verified that I only subscribed to the Calendar once.

Does anyone have an idea what causes this?

I have no idea what it is, but I'd imagine that something is happening when the script is checking for any new events and isn't recognizing when it already has some of them. Maybe there was even some type of small change made by a TL admin that causes the script to think there is a new event?

I'm actually of the opinion that TL would be well served by just using a Google Calendar themselves. Really easy for them to edit and it makes it really easy for everyone to be on the same page. Timezone support is a huge thing, too (and something I find really, really important for the Starcraft scene).

I have applied the bug fix which resolves the duplicate entries issue for some events in the Google Calendar.

I will continue to monitor the calendar to make sure it's functioning properly.

Thanks! I see one future event that seems to have a double, but that's it. Most of the old ones were fixed except for some Day[9] stuff. In general, any old stuff with duplicates now has less duplicates except for the cluster on . . . last Tuesday I think?

Thanks for continuing your work!

I am hesitant to remove any duplicate entries in the future as people may have reminders/alerts setup on them and I don't want to interfere with that. As for the past events, those no longer matter

When I initially wrote the script I had a feeling I could run into this issue, I wrote a very simple solution to deal with duplicates but it turns out it wasn't sufficient. I sort of decided to stick with the buggy simple solution until I got more familiar with the data and the problem at hand, instead of over-engineering a solution from the start.

Sorry if it caused any problems.

Oh, no, it's perfectly fine now! Only time will tell if there's some other bug hiding somewhere.

I think the time for GSL is wrong. It's an hour too early (at least for me @ BST).

I second that. I could be some problems with daylight saving time. (CET here obviously)

Thanks for the great work here.. I have no problems and the date/time seems to be correct. And with the new chrome extension for google calendar (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/gmbgaklkmjakoegficnlkhebmhkjfich) I have all the events just one click away :')

I've noticed that there are lots of events in the Teamliquid web page that are not in the Google Calendar. Does it means that it'll be discontinued?

There's an example:

Was just coming to post the same thing. Seems like new events are not being picked up.

Any chance of this getting fixed or does anyone know an alternative method of getting TL calendar into my Google/Android calendar?

I'm also missing this feature. But it would be much nicer, if the TL calendar supported the ical format directly.

Somebody said that this Google calendar will no longer be updated with SC2 events, only with Brood War events. Is this true? When I check my phone (which has been synced with this calendar since the start), the last time I see an SC2 event posted is Dec. 11th.

I've started using this calendar with Rainmeter, the only thing bugging me is that seems to be no way to change the displayed time from Korean to CET. But it's nice having the info on my desktop, instead of going to Google calendar

There was an issue with the Google calendar API.

It was returning errors when the script was attempting to add new events.

The issue has since resolved itself and the Google calendar appears up to date. I made no changes to the code of the script so I guess Google had issues

Ok this will be a shameless plug but ;
Have you guys tried ScCalendar? As the name suggests , it's a calendar application for Sc2 based on TL Calendar with stream player & rss reader etc.
Our topic in Sc2 General , HERE
Hope you like it!

This calendar seems to be no longer updating, am I correct in that? I am willing to create and maintain a .ics file, corresponding to the events calendar - it's something that a decent number of people seem to be looking for. However, if someone else is already working on it I don't want to double their effort (I have no coding ability so I'd be doing it by hand, though I'm fine with that. I also don't want to step on any toes). As I say, I am fully willing to create and maintain a .ics calendar file, to share with the community, but if someone else is doing this there's no point.

heres another one if this one is too cluttered/not working. Don't know if this link will work to add it:
https://www.google.com/calendar/render?cid=MDducDBhZjdzc2hqNzNlbDZldDhjbTU1dGNAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ

heres the url of just the calendar:
https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=07np0af7sshj73el6et8cm55tc@group.calendar.google.com

and the url to add in "add url" (see OP):
http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/07np0af7sshj73el6et8cm55tc@group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

Second this...it would be easiest if the calendar is open to all of the mods to update, then any of the mods can come in and put up events corresponding to real life.

I noticed this was in the SC2 forums...Hopefully if this project continues it would be for both of the pro-scenes.

I'm not sure if I should make a new thread for this or not, but I'll post here initially and see where it goes.

Since this calendar seems to no longer be maintained, I created a new version of it. You can add it to your Google calendar by following the same directions as in the OP, only with this URL instead:

https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/63ni096k3s296jpqo0j81j67sg@group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

Edit: I'll just make a new thread, since this post on page 7 would rapidly get lost if anyone starts commenting on this again.
