I'm want to put a poll as to how many people here actually think LiveForever brought his a-game...

this is one of the hardest parts of balancing a game, in they you can never have two equaliy skilled people play each other, as they are human. Simple factors like sleep, distraction, glare on the montior, who knows... effect the outcome.

Liveforever threw away a thor in the first game while army supplys were fairly low, and had his army on move command when it was attacked, and really he likely choose the least effective followup with the cloacked banchee in far position (not sure about this). And it just goes down hill from there.

I'm not saying he played like crap, but he was making critical errors can you can't make against anyone that brings their a game. I'm just saying that the balance discussion has no place in the result of just a few games, becuase there are just to many factors.

I'm just saying take the games for what they are, epic games. But can we please stop commenting on balance from 3 games....

(though it had to be said if that hotpatch came out before fruitdealers round of 8.... how many peopel believe he would have won that mass thor game? I don't know, many be he would have adjusted his that good that maybe he woudln't let it happen... but I don't think so.)

Cool is awesome!!!! I had always heard he was possibly the best zerg during the beta, but never had a chance to see any of his games. It's been a blast watching him hand out his fruit during the GSL. Cool is gonna take this tournament!!!!
My favorites: Terran - Maru // Protoss - SoS // Zerg - soO ~~~ fighting!

Um...does anyone here really think Cool was serious about the "change"? Cause I thought it was pretty obvious he was either blowing off some rage after some bad ZvT's, or just joking. He's already stated that he feels Zerg is the only race for him lol
Coo coo ca chu, everything's gonna work out just fine

Mind games to make his opponents think he was completely on tilt with the Zerg race and have them put their guard down a little.

Is it just me, or do all these terran losing to Cool seem to have a TvZ that's a full notch below their TvT and TvP? I mean, why are these terran always balling up their marines and leaving them in FG range when they know cool has infestors+blings? Why are they not sniping off or EMPing the huge ass infestors before they FG their army so they can stim kite the bliings? It seems like these terran are so bad at stopping Cool from landing his banelings.

Dunno - his armies were pretty small, but looking at his minerals, he was damn low on them. So more than likely he just couldn't afford the ghosts.

did anyone mention that liveforever mis-placed his CC two straight games in a row in games 1-2? On meta and scrap his natural CC was misplaced at the natural. wtf was that? at this level of play, to do that two games in a row?

There was a thread ages ago how if you put your CC a little bit farther away, you'd get minerals faster with x3 saturation or something...so maybe he was planning on all-in timing pushes each game? Otherwise...that was just horrible play.

Well if people are watching it for free on youtube it's damaging esports as people arent paying the $20 to GOMTV. Personally I would never pay $20 to watch some Starcraft games tho as much as I enjoy it.

I think so also. I don't know if you all caught Cool's interview quote where he said he thought he'd have a harder time against Ensnare than Rainbow because Rainbow is a more "plays for the joy of the game" player like himself and Ensnare is more serious and a dedicated practice fiend, I suspect it was a bit of mind games there too and trying to plant some kind of seed with either or both players.

No one could see the guy 6pool vs. InCA and follow up with a fast expand next game and think that he isn't trying to pull a mind game on his opponent at all times, and usually successfully too. The beauty of the 6pool game was the ballyhoo from InCA and his team about how they had some kind of scripted strategy for the whole game on Kulas and how it was going to go, that match was all metagame, "how do you like THIS script?"

Guys, don't get all excited about this Fruity Cool fella. I've been watching all his GSL games and for a while I was as pumped as you were. But after watching his semi-finals performance I've come to the conclusion that he is cheating.

He is cheating because he is actually a robot. No way is it legal for an AI to compete in this tourney. The organic nature of his name "A Fruit Dealer" is simply a mathematically calculated ploy to keep people from recognizing his true cybernetic nature. It didn't work on me, simply because I'm bad at math.

Things like making two roach warrens in previous games were just other masterfully calculated "errors" to keep people in the dark.

However, I was thoroughly impressed with how he seemed to bite that apple. I'm sure it isn't good for his circuitry.

It's funny because I can just imagine Idra raging everytime Dealer progresses "Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu this is killing my imba claims"
