I really liked all the games except the first match (live vs maka)
I know everytime a terran wins everyone say that was some shit games, but I really liked the cool's 6 pool, then his bane play in set 2 (wich zerg player other than him even think about making banes in this situation ? That was just brilliant, and I don't even talk of the execution, one of the best game I've seen, and I watch A LOT of games)

Tester vs rainbow was very interresting, perfect build and macro from rainbow, and tester for the first time showed he's human and can make mistakes when playing a better player than him (or at least a player as good as him). In tester vs hyperdub, he overcame a much bigger army deficit losing nearly nothing. In game 1, he makes a bad counter and dosen't reinforce against rainbow flawless macro. Then lose his colossus, that cost him the game. He never does those kind of mistakes, but he has today.

Ensnare match is very interresting too from a terran POV, the build and execution were really flawless.

It really seems that most terrans comes with a game-plan (and sometime don't deviate from it even if it can't work, see maka set2), while protosses just wait and see. (but I can be wrong obviously)

Still it's a punch in the gut moment for fans watching. To see him pull of some of the most epic saves in the whole tournament only to lose twice dying in a fire into a MMM concave...

I wonder if that rumor of him having a cold is true, I can imagine the mental fatigue wearing a bit especially with such a short break in between games. I think more time between each round might be good, it seems like we had a huge gap between the first set of games of Ro16, while Ro8 and the semis followed after consecutively.

And don't forget tester actualy won the first battle at his expo (set 2 on sow). But then he chase the fleeing army of rainbow, who gets reinforced while tester's is not and he end up losing everything for being greedy.

true. Having a cold makes everything so hard that that could explain his "sloppy" play.

He didn't technically WIN that fight - ITR pulled out at the right time. If tester pulled off the forcefields perfectly, ITR would definitely have lost that battle, and more than likely lost his gold expo while tester keeps his 3rd.

True. (but I talked about the sow game :p In that game, after the first big fight tester has 2 immo, 2 zealots, 3 sentries and 2 stalkers left. Rainbow had 5 marauders and 1 marine + 3 medivacs and is retreating. Tester chase him, rainbow stims and takes down the 2 immortals because they have no shield left. Then rainbow retreats again, tester chase him again, then rainbow meets his reinforcements, turn back and clean tester's forces)

Wow, this tournament day really made me think the games are getting close. And no kidding. All the players seemed reluctant to risk a long game where a minor oversight might decide the outcome, instead wanting to force the advantage early on. Understandable. I mean, I wouldn't want to wait until Tester gets exactly the units he wants to have, even knowing he is cheeseproof.

Though I wish the early aggression had been held off more than once in the last three matches, because then the games get really interesting; Fruitseller countering the zealot rush is a good example.

And I wish a Terran player had tried to go for Day9's Funday Monday. *g*
In my head, I'm a 1500 Diamond player. In reality, I don't even know what that means. I don't play SC2. I just watch.

If Cool wins this tournament he can call himself the best player in the world by far. Entering Semifinals in this elite tournament as a Zerg is already mind-blowing. He's the player I have the most respect for at the moment.
Way to go Cool!

If ITR takes this I think a few, not many, but some players will recognize that the clan route may not be the best path and leave the major teams and maybe form smaller groups like TSL or remain a "free agent" like ITR.

Sorry, I didn't follow the old BW scene closely, was there a lot of FA success there?

Cheese craft at it's highest level. The more you go to high level games, the more the games are some 5 mins rush or 1 base all in plays and stuff.

In what perspective this game can compare to broodwar ?

Really disapointed in this Ro8, i mean no expending, no macro, just pure micro all inish plays and there is nothing wrong with that, i just feel that i'm watching wc3 and not starcraft.

Only hero of the day is Cool incredibal balls and play.

There were multiple games of expansions. The opponents just didn't really let the expansions work.

Cool vs Inca - Inca was setting up for forge fast expand, gets shut down. In fact, he even throws down the expansion after he fights off the first wave, and then promptly gets shut down again.

Tester vs ITR - Both expand in game 1. Even 3rd expos are taken. Game ends shortly after that. Game 2 Tester expands, and gets shut down by 1 base play by ITR.

Didn't watch Maka v LiveForever because I missed it, and Ensnare basically destroyed HongUn in the early game.

No, kespa monopolized it so that you couldn't play in tournaments if you weren't in a pro team

Judging by about 10 posts I've recently read by you, it's extremely difficult to tell if you're serious.

ITR vs Tester game 2 is actually pretty educational in terms of decision making- i.e. ITR displayed great patience and let Tester lose the game for himself rather than chasing for the win.

The first crucial point for Tester was chasing ITR's retreat when he really just needed to reinforce and hold the natural. The other, of course, was throwing his army away into the contain; although it looked extremely ugly, imagine his thought process when put into that situation by a player of ITR's caliber: panicked about map control, ITR's freedom to expand, his dwindling main, and whether he can feasibly obtain the tech needed to safely push out a contain in time. His conclusion was "I have to bust this now or lose"- while it wasn't the best choice I understand what caused him to make it. Tester's post-match expression seems to sum it up: "Why did I do that?". As a fellow toss player, I can empathize, as I'm sure most of us have suicided into a rax army needlessly.

A well deserved win by ITR!

You have either forgotten or were not following BW when BW pro matches were a lot of 5 min rushes and 1 base plays. Games evolve, bro.
