But I love it how some players feel the need to lash out, hope that helps you sleep at night.

The weird thing is NexGenius has like 700 games in the ladder, you'd think he'd know how to deal with cheese...

It's a big tournament it worked first game easily, it puts pressure on your opponent and throws him off balance mentally. If you have a solid reputation of being a solid player who is very good mixing in ridiculous cheese takes people off guard and it tells your next opponents you gotta watch out for this and play honest.
In short a ton of money is on the line, win however you can.
Totally agree. People are being so hostile towards him and it's completely stupid and unwarranted. I really like the guy tbh, and I can GUARANTEE you that if he was P or Z and did something just as cheesy, nobody would have a problem with it.
People really need to calm down on TL lately.

Funny if after all this ZvZ hype they just fucking 6 pool to get it over with.

He went 1-gate robo, probably the most risky build you can possibly do besides afking, on a 2-player map with a close rush distance after he was just cheesed on a 4-player map.

I think Genius could have stopped that in 2nd game but he made some panicky mistakes. What scares me though is how to stop this after 1.1 when zealots take 5 seconds longer. Marines and marauders are untouched and in the 2nd game there never even was a bunker.
Scary to think about imo.

uh yeah, we get WHY people cheese--because it leads to fucking winning. and everybody likes winning. herp derp.
doesn't mean we as an audience like watching it. doesn't mean i as a viewer, who got up at 5AM to watch the games i paid $20 for, don't feel cheated--i was looking forward to a good TvP, and so far have not seen a single one today.

So many noobs posting like this guy doesn't know about scouting. He does, he chose not to and mine more, it was likely a calculated risk based on knowledge of his opponent.

Well that one is at least deserved. Scouting is the bread and butter of Starcraft No, that's not deserved. He did something risky which would've provided an econ boost and it obviously didn't pay off this time, but goddamn he's not the worst P in the world because of it. If there wasn't any cheese he could've had an advantage.

Better yet, 2 Zerg. With one of them being from oGs and ranked #687 in the world.
Is this the other guy?

Next series should be interesting, I can't even remember the last time I watched a ZvZ in SC2. Pretty sure I haven't seen a single one since Beta, and I've watched a LOT of tournaments since then. I have no idea what is standard in this matchup.

I disagree your post is holier than thou, I fucking love to watch cheese it's exciting in that the game completely hinges upon your micro and turns up the excitement level. Don't assume everyone is the same as you when it comes to preference.

Ok, we all know terran is overpowered, anyone can look at the ladder stats and look at tournament results and see it, but genius sealed his fate with poor scouting, anyone that blames that series on imbalance is foolish.

Nexgenius deserves it sadly, that delayed scouts in tournaments setting when everything can happen is not acceptable for top level players.

I'm surprised and very disappointed to read that from someone who is a caster
sc2 - like any other "sport" - lives from people watching because only then sponsors will bring in money; I sure as hell wouldn't be watching sc2 if every game were about cheese and defending against it; I got better things to do than watching such crap
so from the perspective of the player, yes, it makes sense to do everything to win; for basketball/soccer/whaterver-players it makes sense to even play unfairly to win; for cyclists it makes sense to dope, because most of them won't get caught
but we as a community have the frickin right to hate them for doing this if we feel like it...because we are watching them and indirectly providing the source for their money

Weird thing is he didn't look nervous in the booth, and then he sees the first proxy and just pulls all his probes and idles for like 5 seconds, the second one he pulls *all* his probes and expects to have money for an immortal, brain freeze I guess, happens to me in shitty ladder games ^^. Hope he gets another try next season seen some good games of him.
Davit wouldn't have proxied g1 if he hadn't found him I guess, g2 he left his SCV by the Xel Naga, would he have seen a pylon scout before he moved to make the rax?

Why are they ALWAYS apologising man.. Seriously it's really fine. And we understand, I don't know what the 1056th apology is for :/.
