On top of this lame pricing I just realized that even if you do decide to purchase the passes you NEED paypal as that is the only option of paying. This is even more retarded!! No credit card purchase or any other payment options. I really do not see them getting any decent number of subscribers with this retarded strategy they have chosen....

I think i'm going to pay anyway.

They've done this in the past before, free and otherwise. I don't think they would be doing this if they had a choice. I believe it should be cheaper for sure, but they've entertained me in the past more than a shitty movie and some popcorn has for 20 dollars, so i will be putting my foot forward with this.

I hope them the best of luck with it and that we can all just get along at the end of the day.

You can pay with a credit card through paypal very easily. Paypal only is actually good because paypal always sides with the buyer in disputes, so we can get a couple people to pay for it, restream, and then get a refund.

not only will this cripple the amount of viewers the GSL will receive but it will also hurt the amount of sponsor/advertising dollars GOM could have made. No company is going to want to buy a spot on a show 50-100 people are watching lols.

Also huge LOL at the GOM guy saying they will stop any piracy.. many companies far more powerful and rich than GOM (LOL) have failed miserably at copyright protection. If the internet wants to get the games for free, they will get the games. that's the bottom line.

What worries me the most is having no information at all about releasing the replays after the matches. GomTV only mentions Livestreams and VOD's made by their comentators and such. I mean, i perfectly understand the commercial needs of a company such as this but it appears that you wont even be able to watch the replays by yourself unless someone changes their minds.

I was willing to pay to watch until I checked the price.. No way I'm paying that much. I have a job and all but that just seems a little too much. Also, Escapist, Korean leagues usually don't release any replays.

$10 for both stream and VOD if they could guarantee quality would be acceptable, but as it is now, it is insultingly expensive.

$10 would be acceptable, $50 is simply way-too-much
They should lower their prices, there is no other way to convince ppl to pay for this.

Personally I think there should be some sort of incentive to get the 'live' ticket and 'vod' ticket all in way. It's currently 50 bucks basically, or £35 in my currency. I dunno, some sort of discount would sweeten what is a quite bitter pill.

I'm going to buy one or the other, probably the live stream one. But I hope gom listen to the feedback.

its $20 a month, so after 4 months I have paid more than I pay for internet for a year. $30 a month if you cant watch at KST.

This tournament might not last long, i dont see many people spending crazy ammounts of money to watch something that is free other places.

Edit: Ok this is some raging. I can watch something like IEM or MLG for free and see Zerg get 5rax reapered or I can pay $50 a month. Sounds like a no brainer. Guess I'm gona have to wait for the Day9 daily to see any of these game. GG gom

I pay 5000 won a month (about 4$US) for unlimited livestreaming and VODs on the MSL website. That is a reasonable price; 50$ a month is not. GomTV and Gretech can fuck off IMO.

They will wait untill 4th of September and then respond in that way:

"No plans for free streams at this time. You'll be able to pay for the streams like your friends, and when we add more payment methods there'll be streams for your clans and groups, but no specific plans for free streams right now. Do you really want free streams?"

This response basically means "Yeah well we don't give a fuck..".
