Sad thing is that if GSL is a total bomb, that's not a good thing for SC2 in general. I would prefer this to be a success, just a free success though.

TL users do it all the time with BW programming which I'm sure would still be considered Internet TV piracy. Although it's easier to justify since it simply is not available to the foreign scene any other way and it's not like ogn and mbc have any incentive to try and shut it down, that doesn't change the fact that it's probably not legal (hey I could be wrong, i'm no internet lawyer).
So how do TL users send links to restreams? Just PM eachother like crazy?

Guess I won't be watching the GSL, they'll be on youtube in a few days anyway, not to mention there will probably free streams anyway! Tough call dudes, you kill brood war and then leach us for money. thanks.

Complaining really has never helped this community. We've literally never had to pay to watch professionals play games. We've had to sit through hours of shitty korean commercials that we didn't get any benefit from, though. Why not just get some english sponsors and play commercials for those companies on the english stream?

tlo come back to germany! i wanna see you play

They didn't even update there English site until 4 days before the tournament. Was this information on the Korean site before?
No, the Korean stream will have a free stream. So no, no info about this since It only had to do with the none Korean stream.

I payed for MLG and was happy to do so to support SC2 becoming a part of MLG. However MLG provided a free stream so I could watch SC2, Halo, Tekken (+ others I didn't watch) first and see the product I would be buying.
Also with GSL being live on Korean time it's hard to justify a live ticket since I might not always be awake to watch. But if there was a free stream at least I could test the waters first and determine if paying was worth it.

so is it confirmed that the korean stream is free?
then....why the hell don't we just watch this stream? or does it require a korean ssn?

It is certainly possible that Blizzard gave every rights about GSL to GOMTV in US, which means those youtube vod and livestream won't be available.

If anyone lives in australia-QLD-Gold Coast and wants to split the bill and watch the games, send me a PM. I wont be able to get all 20 up before the event starts haha

If you really want them to change anything try it this way. GomTv is listening to this thread (TL), http://www.gomtv.net/2010gslopens1/forum/2765 look at the end of this post, they know what we all think of this.
ty, for this post. gomtv needs to know how many ppl are pissed by their current decision. our shouts have to come out of every single hole. their forums shall crash due to the high activity of us telling them to not let us pay.

Is it confirmed to be free?
EDIT: Oh, and the people posting on the gom forum, send emails to the address in the OP as well. He put it in there to get feedback presumably. His inbox is another place to spam displeasure.

If this is the actual pricetag when it starts, and that is a big If the best thing would be to only watch the highlight matches, like the games that TLO and IdrA are in etc. then just don't bother until they close in to the finals and then just watch certain matches using the day tickets for 2 bucks. You can catch the rest on Pirated streams or youtube.

this is pretty ridiculous. i can understand them charging for HQ streams but to charge for VODs as well? i assume someone restreaming the paid stream would be illegal?

Is it possible that a season = a year and a season is made up of the 12 monthly tournaments? if that is true 20 dollars and more for vods seems reasonable. Correct?

then....why the hell don't we just watch this stream? or does it require a korean ssn? Im not sure, but I think it's because it's hard to watch korean stream as all servers are in Korea... Also it's not English commentary.

Correct? I think someone already confirmed that a season is only a month long. But I guess I could be wrong
