+ Show Spoiler [announcement] +Greetings friends! Flicky here to announce something for all you UK and Irish players! I've received a number of messages about a Second BIO event, which is great. However, I cannot host one at the moment due to trying to get some cool extra stuff for it. Due to how the world works, I have no idea how long it will be. As I don't want several weeks of nothing for my favourite players, I have come up with the genius idea of "flicky Thursdays" and to start off with, the UK&Ireland Minis!Because i'm egotistical and all that, I will be taking to casting these special evening events: Each will be a 32 man event, with two rounds of Bo1 followed by two rounds of Bo3 then a Bo5 finals! For a fun tournament, why not try the non-ladder maps? I will try to keep this interesting with different maps and hopefully some melee maps will be thrown into the mix! If you've made some custom maps, let me know and I'll take a look. (Daeden, I'm taking you up on your several month old offer now) So if you like the sound of the event and you want to play, just post your ID, identifier and race in this thread! All levels of player are welcome! But that's not all! The winner of each week's mini will play an opening show match against a top player from another region! As we can have a winner for the previous event when no such event has existed, the second event will feature this showmatch! Be prepared winners, I think I can get my hands on some tough opposition! The event is a for fun event that gives you a chance to get your name out there amongst the UK scene, find practice partners, get used to a tournament format and prepare for the upcoming BIO#2! No prizes, no pressure! Due to this being a fun event, the rules are just general common sense. However, as I am a power mad leader, I will remove you from every event I ever do if you cheat or act rude and so on. There is one main rule though: Only residents of the British Isles are eligible to enter. If you have emigrated elsewhere and wish to participate, please PM me. Any crazy idea I have will be thrown into a flicky Thursday event and I hope I can keep doing these. I'm considering things like guest casters, UMS dumbness and other little things. For now, these minis will run for the next few Thursdays unless there is a BIO or Nation War event!

Week 1 success! Maybe! Not sure...
So from a tournament point of view, Week 1 went great! We had many good players around and finished with 4 really top players from the UK and Ireland, Slayer, Meepy, CadenZa and Vequeth. Slayer took first over Meepy while CadenZa and Vequeth share 3rd!
So after our test run, we will be moving into the standard model for the event! Continue to sign up in this thread to get the chance at tournament experience and preperation for the upcoming BIO events! Kicking off Week 2 will be a Showmatch between NTT and Slayer. NTT is a top Dutch player with a hugely entertaining style. He defeated Slayer previously in the UK/Ire vs Netherlands showmatch. If you want a taste of his play (and I assure you, you do), check out the replay!

Will the brackets now up at User:Flicky/Minis you can check out your opponent and get ready to play! Because the showmatch is starting at 6:30pm, I'm going to move the start-time back to 7:30pm so that everything is ready to go nicely! The extra 30 minutes means no-one should be late. I apologise for moving it back on short notice, but I've realised it's for the best that we take this precaution so that the event runs smoothly.
Mini#2 has so many big names from the UK, TarQeS, Meepy, Ourk CadenZa and Vequeth are some that you should recognise and remember! Some great possibilities and a lot of Protoss once again! Note the maps, your admins and everything and good luck!
Not to mention Slayer vs NTT!. It'll be a match you can't miss!

The problem is you guys get really easy wins (remember playing random PvZ i just autowon 50% of pvz with 3/4 warpgate expand :D) its just annoying to try to defend the neo-1 gas 4warpgate without playing really well and its a pretty no brainer build. 
It's not like protoss is like OP or anything its just this build, even standard protoss builds get beaten easily by it.

Yeah, a friend of mine was watching some of his reps and he was looking at units through fog. I don't think it affected our games (he just flat-out outplayed me) but it's still disappointing to know he's been doing that. Good job on taking swift and decisive action and thanks to "my friend" for reporting him.

These accusations aren't true.
If they are true, proper action has been taken. People who suspect me have sent the replays suspected of me "map hacking" to Blizzard and if I have been the following will happen -
Blizzard will place a "tracker" on my account. All accounts have tracker, Warden, but as of current it is disabled due to the Cataclysm beta (World of Warcraft) requiring third party software to reverse engineer so when Cataclysm goes live botters and cheaters are caught instantly. The tracking device(s) for wow is a file called "scan.dll" and "scan.dll.new". Warden is, of course, being updated but SC2 is yet to have a working version. This is where Blizzards "tracker" comes in. Essentially, it'll put a lock down on my account if any third party software (ie; a map hack, a tie hack, or anything third party) is activated while SC2 is activated.
Don't worry, if Blizzard have the same conclusions as these doom-sayers, I'll be banned. Don't worry though, I wont be because I haven't been map hacking.

Well I didnt think anything of it at the start, when flicky pointed it out I checked the replays and it does seem very clear to me that cranberries is using maphacks, looking at your base through fog I can understand if your selecting a unit and clicking it there to scout, but he just hovers hes camrea over there without selecting a unit why would you need to look there lol? was very clear when we played on nightmare aswell rallying his army right where my army was behind the fog seemed kinda strange especially on kulas ravine when I blocked my base off he had no idea what I was doing but yet he played a defensive 4 gate I could be doing anything at that point, then actually looking at my base behind the fog for a good 2 seconds to check my warp gate timing it looked like. Having also played 1000+ games all of hes games last only 10-15 mins that isnt natural he looks at what there building and just counters it, it does seem pretty strange to me that he dosent looked like he has played any macro games on hes match history beating top playing within 10 minutes is not normal... Well anyway I hope they implement a nice anti-hacking device so they can get rid of these 10 year old kiddies playing around with MH...

I know that in the past ive scouted and looked at a base through fog after scouting to make sure I saw everything properly, if he does this constantly though its a bit coincidental, as I do it very rearely over the games I play and well i cant acutally see anything knew other then what i originally scouted, lol.

Multiple replays were looked at and while I couldnt tell in the game at the time, looking back at two of my replays I am 100% sure.

It was not looking at last known buildings, it was looking at nothing which is where new buildings/armies etc were. I would not have cancelled the finals and announced it if I was not sure.
Anyway, next week will go ahead as planned, I will sort out signups either this evening or tomorrow and announce our special guest player when confirmed =).

Was dissappointed i lost the first game to vequeth in the Bo3 after watching the replay. Same food, i had the tech, he just caught my army out of position . Second game was rediculous and third game i failed pretty badly .

You are a trip! I remember your game against some Finnish player (PvT on Xel'Naga) and you were whining about imbalance WHILE PEAKING THROUGH THE FOG OF WAR, OBSERVING HIS ARMY.
I don't call for bans from teamliquid, but this guy is a 100% confirmed map hacker that absolutely deserves it.
