Regardless, I wouldn't mind dedicating 15 minutes of my work pay (I get paid like $20/hour) to participate in this tournament. Honestly, who doesn't have $5.00?

Also, I like the concept of pay-to-play because it trims the fat. Obviously if you have no chance of winning or placing relatively well you won't pay to play. This also completely takes out the need for the "invitational mindset" since only the people that would have got invited anyway could justify paying (because they have a chance of winning).

Pay-to-play only increases the competitiveness of the game. If you aren't good enough to pay to play, you'll have more inceptive to be good enough. I wouldn't mind SC2 turning into the next Texas Hold'em, although that would be a dream and a half from reality, still, this is one step toward that awesomeness.

Also, as mentioned in this thread, CEVO has a p-good track record. Props for organizing this for SC2 as well.

Yes, because the tournament was originally made as a paid event it will say unpaid, it means nothing now. It will be fixed before the tournament starts, please don't pay it will just be more work for you to get your money back.

EVERYONE,

This event is now FREE. Please DO NOT pay the $5.00 the website is asking for. I have not switched the event to a free status yet so I could tell who had already paid the money. Those people should have received an email from Mr. Ellis explaining how to request a refund. After I am certain everyone has been refunded, the tournament will be switched to free and it will no longer request the $5.00. Even though it is asking for money, you are still entered into the tournament.

There are only 40 spots left open for this event! If you have not signed up and were planning on it, now is the time to complete this. Once these forty spots are taken, there will be no more additions to this tournament. Please complete registration as soon as possible for your ability to participate.

I would also like to let everyone know that this is a 1v1 competition. There CANNOT be more than one person on each roster. I noticed a team today that had 4 players. These extra players need to be removed or I will have to remove them. If they want to compete, they need to sign up their own team. There are 40 positions left available.

Also people signed up, you need to make sure you have your Character ID and character Code entered so your opponents can find you. To do this make sure you are signed into your account on the cevo.com page, click "my account" on the main menu bar, and click the new my account button below that and then 'unique game ids'. There is screenshots of this in my post earlier in this thread if you can't find it. Several people are signed up without their id entered, and some with the wrong ID.
