You do not need to pay to register, the pay link might still be there because of the way the tournament was set up I let someone know about it. If you already paid you can get a refund for the $5 by making a billing support ticket at support.cevo.com

We are still working out details for future events but this one will be free, the first 128 people to sign up will get in.

Is cevo aware that it's against the tos of sc2 to have pay to play tourneys? I realize this one is free but going forward I don't think cevo has ever done free to play leagues tourneys consistently for any game.

I can't find out how to register for this. When I click on creat team I don't see sc2 in there as a game option.

What is your login name? It is possible you might have already registered for the tournament and that is why it does not show up for you. Try going to teams > view my teams. If you give me either your login name or the email address you used to register your account I can help you out with it.

CEVO is 100% legit and worth the cost. They are the best in the CS 1.6 community, and thats probably the most important competitive pc gaming scene right now.

Wow, the amount of tears in this thread is pretty astonishing. Can we get some mod action or something? Seriously, if you don't want to pay to participate then don't, don't come into their thread and flame them for holding this event. As has been pointed out, CEVO is well respected for their CS events, and them getting involved in SC2 will do nothing but good things for the growth of the competitive scene.
