However. I do not condone of this decision. I think it is unprofessional and right now it has all the looks of either doing it for publicity, doing it to cover up previous mistakes or because of emotions getting in the way of rational thinking. Just give IdrA those penalty points and don't throw him out of the tournament. For me, IdrA is one of the reasons on which tournaments I pick to watch and this goes for a lot of people out there. As you, the admins, can see the public does not respond very well to these kind of things. This means you either should have the public more involved in decision making or your decision is plain wrong. Most people on team liquid here are schooled in tournaments so seeing this kind of backlash happen here is *not* a reminder of good decision making. Hope you figure this out but I think the damage has already been done, it would hurt the ESLs reputation even more if you now revert this change. Except if you go the long way, full statement on what went wrong and what you are going to do to prevent this from ever happening again. Even then, I have to see IdrA accept that as a solution as the damage has been done :-(

With that being said, i was also not trying to disrespect or insult him in anyway, i was being quite facetious with my tone ^^* So again i apologize to anyone who thought otherwise. But thank you for everyone who tuned in tonight and make sure you guys tune in later today (to either mine or iccup's stream) for the semis and finals @ 8pm EST :D Don't worry about it BigT. Anyone who says this issue is related to you isn't paying enough attention. IdrA has stated multiple times he would have had a problem with an other streamer, and that you in no way "provoked him". Side note; great stream today, i was in for all 12 hours (or maybe it ended up being 13).

Good to know it's not completely absurd. While I love idra's Bm at times, a little cleanup from time to time or smack on the wrists also isn't the end of the world. However, esl should apologize formally for wasting his time since the penalty from denying the obs was early in the tournament.

I don't get how that's anything but the most obvious of the obvious of Admin 101, especially when you're hosting a tournament with a 10k prize pool. Your sponsors should be ashamed.

people noticed that i had 2, and only 2, penalty points after i wouldnt let the caster in. and nothing has happened since then. so you just added 2 more points with absolutely no justification in order to cover your asses. you people are a joke.

Id' say refs will let it go about 25% of the time, and give the player a technical foul (or yellow card, etc).

This is the most relevant point of the thread. There is nothing in the ESL rules that allows for the retroactive adding of PPs. IdrA's violation (not letting in the caster) earns him 2 PPs not 4, regardless of how mad it made the tourney admins.
