I would think you would be more worried about money you are owed than complaining on a forum about it. I appreciate your effort, but as I said my complaint was resolved some months ago after contacting outside organizations for help (about 6-8 months after I won), which is why I'm not emailing you. I'm only posting this in hopes that bad PR changes MLG's approach to prize claims as well as saves other people the headache I went through. I just didn't like that guy telling me I was a liar, so that was a direct response to him, not you. That said, there are a lot of people excited for this, so hopefully some good can come of it. Feel free to carry on with discussion of the actual event.

ionno it seems wierd that MGL still has to test the waters with SC2 when its already got a huge response from the king of the beta hill series and knowing the entire sc2 scene is exploding oh well its a start nonetheless welcome to tl guys

This is probably because MLG staff have apparently been to Bungie studios to check the game out. As well as a beta some months ago.

I think this format is not ideal for a game like Starcraft, but it can work. This format is perfect for Halo because in my 6 years of following the competitive Halo scene, there has never been 32 teams that could possibly challenge for 1st place. As mentioned, StK/3D/FB have always dominated and there's only a handful of teams who ever beat them. So all the teams who had a chance of winning always got a pass in the end. Starcraft is a little more...hardcore than Halo, so there are 100s of players who could win this MLG event, 32 is certainly not enough to give everyone a chance. I can see why MLG is limiting it to 32, they probably don't have any idea how competitive the highest level of SC2 is right now - there certainly needs to be more slots to accommodate a feasible number of people. So they'll have to tweak their system for it to work with Starcraft, but knowing MLG, I'm sure they will.
