So, effectively, it's just a polite way of saying "this is not a legit comparison of A to B." To this end, people should just be honest and say "Machine played great, but White-Ra played terrible, so I don't think that's really representative of how good White-Ra actually is," if that's what they believe, and here I do think that's what many people believe.
