I believe in one of Zotac cup, protoss abused FF to block ramp to win zerg.

Thanks to Forsti for streaming by the way! The chinese stream ain't bad but it lags hard sometimes!

Awesome, DIMAGA showed why he's the european who won more tourneys during beta. This World Cup is what I'd call "ASIA VS EUROPE", not that event without DIMAGA and DeMusliM.
|
dimaga said in an iview to the goodgame.ru that when asked before this tournament to remove two maps he removed IZ and... Desert Oasis.
|
So in both groups played today, 4 out of 4 players that advanced are Zerg? Hope we don't end up with more ZvZ in the latter stages.
|
+ Show Spoiler +Now Sen,SlayersBoxer,White-Ra,Check,Leeraeun,F91,Cezzane,Dimaga advanced into 16

I agree, desert oasis is an awful map especially for PvZ The only way protoss wins on that map is if they proxy gate or somehow catch z off guard with quad warpgate and a sneaky proxy pylon

Dimaga just beat 2 Chinese players who are not as solid as any korean in the event. Comparing to Koreans, Dimaga is pretty weak..

Too bad for you. Tomorrow we have 4 zerg group

DIMAGA is a beast.. using ultras too!
Its funny that DIMAGA actually made ultras look semi-decent for patch 12.. now Ultras are gonna get a huge buff most likely in this upcoming patch. This'll be interesting..

Seriously, 6 of the 8 people who has advanced into the next stage are Zerg??!! That's kinda ridiculous. Luckily the top korean protoss and terran have yet to play.
|
I think I agree with Artosis that Zerg has a faster learning curve, so Protoss and Terran players are not necessarily playing at their best, yet.
If you look at the latest gosucoaching results, Terrans are dominating. Not saying that gosucoaching is comparable to this sort of tournament, but it's quite likely that there's still much to be discovered.

Tomorrow will be Zergcraft ZVZVZVZ LOL
|
Also not many high level T,P player are in this WORLD CUP. I don't know how good Chinese players are, but we do miss many top American T,P players.
Actually only American in this tourney is Idra, WHO IS ZERG!
|
Idra is better than Dimaga, he just had a tougher group. Both went 1-2 but Dimaga's group had 2 other guys who also went 1-2 and he was able to squeeze through.
Will get rolled by the next korean player like he got rolled against the 1 korean player in that first group.
|
I think it's more accurate to say that IdrA's ZvZ is not up to par. He had to face off against two Zergs after winning against a Terran. Dimaga faced a Terran and a Protoss after losing against a Zerg.
The way group elimination is set up, you really have to be solid in almost every match-up to not get screwed. The top Korean players + Sen have demonstrated this in every series so far. Others, not so much.

I dont agree with that. DIMAGA is very talented and adapts very well in games. He has been the top europe zerg player since the first week of beta, which is hard to say for just about anyone over any region, to stay on top the whole beta.
I wonder how big his TSL2 blunder hurt his reputation.. cause really DIMAGA is playing at white-ra levels lately.. which I think we all can argue White-Ra is top 3 Protoss player in the world at SC2, along with being the top foreign BW player for the past 2ish years.
