I really wish this was different, mainly for the chance for them to play further in the tournament.
We might have to see another heartbroken Day9 when he had to send his brother out of the tourney because there was only 1 qualifying spot as a kid.. it really is sad

Welcome to TL, new poster, I am the chinese KawaiiRice. + Show Spoiler +Although I understand if you don't consider me as a player because I'm screwed in round 1 anyway sorry mate, in liquipedia it shows you from US. that's why i asked. and yeah, i don't know broodwar players or even wc3 players. i wish HuK is in the lineup.
He is from the US, but he's Chinese American I guess.
The reason there aren't Asia Asians in the tournament probably has to do with the fact that this is supposed to be a foreigner community tournament, first and foremost, so most of the players are going to be those who are well-known within the foreigner community
I certainly wouldn't mind having US-EU-Asia tournaments, but someone has to coordinate the Asian players (I doubt their English is good, and there maybe hoops to jump through as well), and they will need proxy accounts on US/EU servers.

To be fair, I don't think either Plott expects to place top 3, but I kinda get the sentiment that ppl are feeling after that story. Really broke me down too having to hear how many times the two matched up together, and Sean having to basically send Nick home each time. I'd feel epic guilty.
|
I'm sure after day9's 100th cast, him and tasteless will both laugh this off. Or rip each other's throat's off, I'm not sure...
|
Oh man this is going to be awesome to watch!
|
yeah, it is kinda bitter sweet that Day9 and Tasteless are fighting first round after that heartbreaking episode. I think everyone REALLY wants both of them to go far and win now

why wouldn't day place top 3?

yeah, change the bracket of day9 vs tasteless, hear the crowd.
|
Doesn't make any sense to change the bracket. If you did, there'd be a much greater chance they wouldn't face each other...and only play one round.
This way, not only do they play each other, but one of them advances to the round of 8.
How is this bad?

at first i found it funny when day9 was playing tastless first round but after watching day9 100 it makes me sad now : (

Yeah... Day[9] 100 episode made me not want to see them fighting in the first round. It makes me sad... What a great family they are

I agree! REBRACKET! No one wants to see Plott vs. Plott
Although on the plus side we can make some bad puns! The Plott has thickened.... *dramatic music*

Holy crap I thought you were Japanese.
My world will never be the same.

I kind of understand why the day[9] vs. tasteless had to be first round. It's a matchup everyone wants to see, and this is the only way they can guarantee that it happens. Again, though, it's sad to have the brothers knock each other out without a losers bracket for one of them to get back up.
Other than that, there are a ton of sub plot's (pun intended) in this bracket, proof of the genius of this tourney. Possibility that Idra rematch with Nony to get to the finals, possibility of a Idra vs. WhiteRa final, Cathonluck KOTH'ing his way to the finals, Nony showing dominance among foreigners, possibility of a nazgul vs. jinro place match, it's awesome. Can't help but say that almost everyone will be rooting for a Plott to make it into the semi's.
I hope iRip makes a lot of money from this and sponsors at least another tournament. Hopefully, Husky and HD will go on the offensive and take the success this will be and pitch it to a big mainstream company.
I would really like for a future tournament to include Koreans. We know Garimto is playing, as well as the some other notables not locked down into SC1. It being SC2, the playing field should still be pretty even so it should be equally competitive all around for now.

Wow, high five and now $200!!! Everyone will fight for that 3rd place.
Really? day9 v tasteless first round? Oh terrible fate~
something to note 3 randoms 4 Terrans 4 Zergs 5 Protoss
Moonglade, we trust youse will do us proud, mate~
