Terran players already defend with the liberator / widow mine combo, instead of cannons you can place missile turrets and siege tanks like in broodwar. Youd think that, but the fact is that terran can actually destroy a carrier army in a direct engagement with far less investment, while no other race can accomplish that.

In a direct engagement I see zerg quite easily winning with corruptors. How is Terran going to win? I have seen people saying Liberators, and I tried it a few times, but liberators died so fast, with plenty of interceptors left. Battlecruisers with full energy work in a straight up engagement, however add release interceptors + HTs and that option is gone.

Unless I manage to be able to fight him before he has critical mass of carrier / when I got a huge air lead, the only way I have been able to beat toss air armies is by making a missile turret field right outside his base without him noticing, and hoping he has the ratio tempests/carriers wrong. (Or forgot about HTs).

you make corruptors, he makes voidrays
you make vipers, he makes high Templar

you need 7 carriers to 1-shot a corruptor
upwards of 20 corruptors to 1-shot a carrier.
that's 42 supply vs 40 respectively while carriers cost at least twice as much.
on paper it works but practically speaking, it doesn't.
all it takes is one storm and your ideal fight is ruined. then there's the fact that carriers can carry over and hit ground units too. I don't know, it comes down to the high Templar.

as for people thinking that Vikings > carriers, no they kinda don't, surprisingly. it's been like this since WoL.
the dps is too high and Viking too squishy.

I would like to see a defend with supply depots and missle turrets into getting a good unit that does splash damage for terran.... oh wait?

Mech for Terran
Spines with BL for zerg (I can stand a chance in ZvZ haha)
And this for protoss

Wonder if blizzard would mind this new way of playing. Nah DK seems like a cool dude.

Reminded me of the same thing hehe, I even wrote a big strategy piece way back in the day featuring a similar turtle toss strat for rush hour 2 pvz haha > _<

Though I think I called it Sim City toss.

This made me want to play some SC2, but dont think I should - seems like it could waste a lot of time hahah :D

Yeah it is a turtle style but it isn't the only way to play and doesn't seem to be the strongest/easiest build in the world either. Having diversity in strategy is good, hots devolved into either turtle-fests or all-ins at some point and, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think we're seeing so much of this nowadays.

This build is fucking cancer...like terran mech and the old swarm host vipor strategy.

Nonetheless, I always love teamliquid write ups and their high quality.

I just really hope that some glaring flaw in this style is found so that it never becomes remotely close to meta; as I just don't want starcraft to be about camping behind static defense.
