Hey guys, my name is nickbot and I'm a diamond level zerg coming to you guys with a simple, precise rush that should be manna for all of you guys who hate zvz

Basically this is an 8 pool that tries to limit luck's impact on your builds succesful and allows a player with good micro to win quickly in circumstances where a rush woulden't have worked.

THE Basic BUILD:
8 pool
7 drone
8 drone
9 overlord
ling ling ling
ling
queen (these two are
ling interchangable)


So far so simple, and just looking at the build it seems likely that you could end u at a wrong base and your rush is done for, so here are the nuances that make this build so strong

Le nuances:

1. send 1st overlord ASAP to closest by air base. This is extremely important as he will arrive at your opponents base either before or right as you are making the decision of where to send your lings
2. send drone to closest ground position between 40-55 seconds of your pool building, depending on the size of the map.
3.
*Super important* build a spine between your opponents minerals and their gas, as drones have to go around the spine to kill it. any choke point created with your opponent's spawning pool and another structure works fine too

4. when lings arrive attack the drones killing the spines immediately. this should net you about 1-4 drones for almost no damage if they don't back off quickly enough, and if they do move them attack (but do not let yourself get sorrunded) drones and make it a priority to keep spine alive

5. make sure to inject larvae as soon as your queen pops. it is very easy to get caught up in the micro but if they hold it is up to your uber-early larvae inject to get you back in the game

Transitioning (or not)

As i suggested in #5 of the nuances, you absolutely need your queen to get your economy out of shambles after the rush. luckily, this isn't a 6 pool and its very easy to transition out of.
Step 1: Build a spine - This should be done at the center of your mineral line in the space between your two middle mineral patches.


Step 2: drone drone drone
step 3: build extractor
Step 4: build roach warren (within 15 seconds of extractor)
step 5: make roaches and expand

The spine + queen should keep you safe from any <20 ling attack, granted you micro correctly and stop position your drones around your defences.

Maybe you don't want to transition, so you do the DOUBLE SPINE CRAWLER 8 POOL RUSH.

the name is pretty self explanatory, and the major difference it has is that your don't get the second queen, so you end up in the same position as a failed 6 or 7 pool, considering you also brought 2 drones. however, this is incredibly powerful since it forces the enemy to deal twice as much damage in the same period of time to your spines whilst still avoiding the lings. I recommend doing this only when your OV gets to your opponents base before you send you drones and you know that his pool won't be done by the time your lings arrive.


Dealing with your opponents rage:

Put one of these on [image loading] and proceed to tell them what they did wrong. maybe they positioned their spine wrong, or mis-microed drones. either way, be sure to rub it in their face and hide the remorse for the cannibalistic drone genocide you have just committed, you heartless zergling rusher you




Replays:

honestly I don't think its that necessary to have them for a rush, but if any of you guys are confused or just want to see it in action, please just say so and I will post some reps ASAP

Replays are important for the timings! If this gets you zerglings in his base just as his pool finishes, then it should be a matter of him making equal numbers of spine crawlers and defending his spines with drones, then fucking winning. It'd be easier to see replays of the timings of 8 pool vs 14gaspool or 15 hatch etc with replays, rather than finding a dude and going to try them m'self.

Oh joy. Have you considered that if you dislike ZvZ so much, perhaps cheesing every game is not the correct way to approach the matchup? Why do you even play the game if you dont want to become genuinely good at it, this has always puzzled me. This build is a flip of a coin, as it is based on your opponent making mistakes and choosing the wrong opener blindly along with poor scouting, not on you actually being good. I would personally rather lose a good game than win with a cheese...

Diamond zerg myself, the last time I lost to a 6-7-8 pool without me going 15hatch I cannot even remember.

I would just add: you can get an extra drone (10th) if you delay your 3rd zerling pair by about 5 seconds.

Interesting build, but what makes this better than a 10 pool? I 10 pool zvz all the time (tl guide inc) so id love to hear if there is some exploitable timing that makes this better vs 14 pool or something.
