I was recently in a 4v4 match where we took out 2 of our opponents bases and a protoss and terran were turtling in the last corner of the map. the terran massed thors and the the protoss had a mass of collosi. I played terran and started setting up a lot of seige tanks outside their base at the choke. My intention was to starve them of minerals and gas while my other teammates mustered their forces. I used vikings for sight for my tanks. But when the thors came out they just smashed through my bio ball and seiged up tanks. Which got me thinking; what is terrans' best counter to the thor?

in 1v1 it's Mass Marauders or Battlecrusiers. A critical mass of siege tanks also beat Thors with the right terrain advantage, like choke points.
Team games are way more complicated, but Marauders with Void Rays or Broodlords do very well. When Colossi and Thor are used together it's best to go with extremely heavy air composition, or have a very strong siege line with your teammates using air units. Mass thors are tough on air units but at least the Colossi are negated, which makes the battle easier.
Alternatively you can just drop their base.

My teammates had blink stalkers that were waiting to blink up their cliff once i scanned. But I was hard pressed to hold off the large number of thors. When using mass marauders, isit better to use stim or hold off on the stim because once I stim, the thors kill them off really quickly.

Unless you don't have medivacs it's almost always better to stim vs Thors when using mass marauders. They die incredibly fast and Mass Marauders out-DPS Mass thors at a significant rate especially if you have the Terrain advantage (chokepoints). Hell, even without Medivacs it's better to stim since Thor's attacks do so much damage anyway.

If you have +1 armor, and he doesn't have +2 Attack yet, marauders actually take an extra attack if you don't stim. However, I'd still say it is better to stim, since there will always be marines or hellions in the mix. The marauders would be left with only 1HP, and considering how much more quickly marines fire than Thors, chances are very good that the marauder will take at least one marine shot before taking 3 thor shots.
