If you have already played in a previous season I believe you only need to play 1 placement match to be placed in the next season because you keep your previous MMR.

Zerg issues:
What are the responses I can make against blinkstalker archon mid-late game army composition? Which units should I make, what transitions should I do?
What units should I make against immortal, archon, blinkstalker, ht late game army composition?

What units should I make against immortal, archon, blinkstalker, ht late game army composition? 1. Mass roach is fine, although I question how your Protoss opponent got that much gas to make an archon/stalker army. Where did his minerals go?
2. Broodlords, supported by infestors are your only choice here. No other Zerg army can trade cost efficiently.

Yeah but it just grinds my gears, when pros are put higher on blizz priority list than common players. It is as if in real life "rich people get exceptions vs poor" here "skilled people get exceptions vs newbs"

This isn't really a strategy question, but I just wanted to add to it anyway. Blizzard does actually hold pro's to the same standard, but in tournaments where an additional license cost has been played to Blizzard and the accounts are being used simply to play custom matches by people who already have accounts it's a bit different to other situations.
Further though, Blizzard has threatened pro players for account sharing when it goes outside of that.

Sort of, but not really. Blizzard threw a fit because they streamed the account sharing. Nothing would have happened if it wasn't streamed. If anything, it shows that Blizzard probably would have banned a random unknown player had he streamed account sharing. Either way, makes little difference as it's a rule that's rarely enforced, pro or casual.

It's next to impossible to pin account sharing on non-pro's, if you install the game on two different computers/houses for w,e reason (separated parents as an example) then how can you tell the difference between that and two friends playing? You can't unless different IP's are logging each other in/out

I've a feeling this is thread-worthy but I figure I may as well try here first:
Since the patch went live finding a map has been impossible for me, I assume others have had this issue as it's pretty weird to throw at one guy.
I search 'GSL' three times and got three different results:

If you haven't played the map and it's not a blizzard one I believe you need to search in the Arcade, though I could be wrong.

Does it then get added to the 'starcraft' section? Also, I haven't played the other listen games which aren't blizz :/

Yeah I think so, but I'm not certain.

Hi, I just played a game against a player named "MoreQQMoreGG", and during the game he 6-pooled and failed, and right as it was apparent that he had lost, my game froze for a few seconds, and then a message popped up saying "desync!" and dropping me. This is pretty obviously a hack, and i was just wondering how i can report him if i can't see the score screen (it says "error, unable to load score screen".
I have his bnet, where it shows another "tie" (very unlikely) http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/3578946/1/MoreQQMoreGG/matches

Think you should post this somewhere on the general forum, not in Strategy. Pretty strange thing, I might add, dont know how someone could possibly make your game crash / disconnect.

I think I might have pinpointed a general flaw with my play, but I'm not sure if it's significant. Generally when I'm playing on 2 bases I saturate my main mineral line (16 + 6 on gas), then rally to my natural. However I usually don't rally my main nexus back to my main mineral line when my natural is saturated. So all of the probes I eventually transer to my third are mining from my natural beforehand. Am I losing a signifcant amount of minerals by rallying all new probes to my natural instead of dividing them between my main and natural?
|
How do you practice your builds and how detailed do you write them down? Have you everything planned out exactly up to like 30 supply? (25 gate, 27 2nd gas...) I feel highly limited when playing like that. Do you have any suggestions on finding, learning and practicing builds? Btw I'm Toss

For a pretty long time, zvt was said be pretty unbalanced, and then I heard it recently started balancing out, due to small shifts in the metagame. My zvt winrate is radically higher than the others MUs at high dia, so I was wondering if this is simply due to imbalance?

As long as your main remains saturated, you're basically trading a tiny bit of extra income across 1-3 minutes for a 5-10 second faster spike in income as your probe transfer to the third is bigger and much quicker. Could also just quickly go into a custom and test your mining rate/total mined between both approaches.

Not all build orders necessarily have to be as specific as supply. Most timings you might memorize down to the supply, but you can also do them relative to each other. (ex. when my gateway is 40% drop a gas). Supply is just a more exact measurement relative to your timing where the clock can't be used to account for your progress. Either way, builds are merely the most optimized way to reach your timing while meeting the constraints of a match-up.
You can do the work of testing what you can afford and at what points you can cut probes/units to reach X timing faster, or at what saturations you add infrastructure/gasses/X which costs gas, but a build is the product of this testing. The builds I play have timings that reach max supply. I memorize them in a custom game setting before I expose them to the gauntlet of ladder. As for finding them, TL is your best asset.

I have one big issue in PvP, immortals. When I watch replays everyone is very stalker heavy when playing PvP but sometimes I see my opponent building lots of immortals and i dont know what to do...so i usually build immortals too :S
How do I counter them? Voids? Extra Zealots? I am trying to have a response that isn't super micro-y as I am still trying to focus on my macro for now (high silver).

Generally, stargate builds counter robo play. I think people usually use 3 gateways 1 stargate phoenixes. You just lift immortals, and fight the rest of his army with your gateway units.
p.s. don't get void rays vs P; charge zealot/archon composition should also do well against this, but it's better to see the replay first
