Oh thank you! I didn't even see that, whoops.

If you send a worker to mine a patch through the fog of war, and the patch has already been mined out by an opponent (unknown to you), does the worker know it ahead of time and wont get the ability to clip through other unites? If it does get the clipping ability, when does it stop having it?
Sorry if this has already been answered, and by inability to check myself.

No. The initial placement matches are only used to generate an initial MMR. Once you have an MMR, you no longer need to do placement matches unless it is reset e.g., by the TW/KOR, LA/NA, RU/EU server merges.
You will only need to play your single "hey, I'm active" game to be re-ranked in the new season.

I didn't really read every single post ... srry bout that, but When should zerg start to spread one's creep? Should they wait for the third queen? Or if they can't get the third queen due to pressure?
|
I would say that if you play standard, you can't really support the first inject or two if you are droning up, so you can lay down a creep tumour or 2.

Make the second queen from the main, and use it's starting energy to drop a tumor to spread creep from you main to your natural. That tumor will begin a slowly spread creep until you get a third queen out which should be used to start the real fast spread.
If you are under so much pressure that you can't get a 3rd queen out, then you're probably facing an all-in. There are few situations that I can think of where the you are under so much pressure that 3rd queen is impossible, and the other guy isn't going all in. In the case of facing an all-in, mass creep spread isn't going to play as large of a factor considering that if you make a successful defense, you've probably won the game. Also, you'll probably need all of the queen energy to make inject, so you have enough units to defend with.

Around how many observers should I have in game? Should I have one over their main base and one over my army? (this is what I do. If the main one gets killed, I send it back. The third time I give up) Should I have one floating around the map scouting around for expos and armies?
I know I need one with my army and have always carried one with my main army ever since I got caught off guard by DTs.
EDIT: I didn't do my research http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/2140504163 This thread tells me pretty much what I need to know: 1-2 for scouting, 1 for army. If anyone has anything to add, let me know. I'm in bronze. My friend in masters tells me he thinks I'm gold level play but the ladders are locked.

How can I find public test realm? I want to practice the new maps before season 3 goes live.

Go on a magical journey to your Program Files -> Starcraft 2 folder and open Starcraft 2 Public Test.exe

Wow it's only opened to NA players. Nice of bliz to give them an edge

my latest terran openings (eu masters) :| anyone else agrees that hellion is way too popular these days?
vs Z - reactor hellion opening vs T - reactor hellion with 1 port viking vs P - 2 fact blue flame opener with attempt to bypass front line for major probe damage (most tosses do not expect 12 hellions at the 8 minute mark, when caught off guard it's gg)

repost
Where can I find a comprehensive 14g/14p 21 hatch ZvZ guide or replay pack? I want to know the reactions to everything, how to get roaches and how to defend expansions from blings and what tech choices to make based on my opponent.

In the beta reactor helions were popular, but got pushed aside when people realized they would win half the time with a 2 rax. Then when this stopped happening, they switched back to helions, though i think 2 rax is still the best, at least on small maps.
Banshee opening seem to dominate tvt, or shee hard-counters. They make you safe from most early pushes and decent expand timing. People have stated to skimp on defense early, so helions can be good, but b-flame drop is better tvt, or the helion/rine/medevac push is preferable
b-flame drop against toss is not very stong due to FF. It can be a good way to transition into mech against toss. Hellions are great harass late game.
As to ur question, yeah i think ur a helion nub if you really do that in all matchups.

If you haven't seen it, start with the speedling expand guide by Chaosvuistje, which you can find in the Recommended Threads sticky. It covers most of the things you've mentioned up to early-mid game. I made it the basis of my ZvZ when I was in Silver and it hasn't failed me yet (now in Plat and ZvZ is still my strongest matchup).
Also read the followup posts in the thread for some comments on handling banelings.

so what is the best roachling timing against a 3g fe and a 1g fe? i have been doing a 14 pool 16 hatch 16 gas build where i drone to 21 get my warren at 5:10 and try to hit with 7-8 roaches at 7:15 with sling reinforcements. It's 4 supply for the queens, 21 for the drones 16 for the roaches and i make overlords to give me 52 supply and make 11 sets of ling reinforcements and behind the attack i make 2 ovys and then drone.
thoughts?

What is a good 1 Gate FE build in PvZ?
When is it appropriate/safe to do this build? I see lots of pros pretty much pulling it off every time zerg goes speedling expand on 21ish supply.

1 gate FE is a build.
What you build afterwards is determined primarily by scouting.
Although you can typically say a good amount of sentries with a handful of stalker/zealot early to defend since when FEing you will not have much opportunity to pressure in the early game.
