Hi there.
I just got rolled by a low level plat protoss player. I'm ~20 gold.
I scouted with an scv then reaper, and saw that he went for robotics before stargate.
I thought I'd be safe from void ray harass, and was only preparing for the inevitable immortal rush.
But as I expanded and built up a force of rines, in came two void rays! I was completely caught unprepared, and spent most of my forces trying to defend against it.
Then the toss bust through my wall while I was temporarily occupied, and I just got destroyed.
Ugh.
Was my scouting thought process wrong?
I think I'm going to have to rush to reactor vikings immediately whenever I go vs toss from now on...
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

K I watched it and have noticed several key points of struggles in your play
1) Macro, your intial BO was pretty dead on, OC and rax a tad late. However you stopped scv production way too soon for about 2-3 minutes and then started building more. However since you built marines instead of goin right for tech lab, your reapers were about 3 minutes late which results in almost 0% effeciancy. After your harasss, you then went on a building spree. With 1 base you built 2 Facts w 2 tech labs, 4 Barracls with add ons and a starport. That is way too many buildings to support off of 1 base its not possible. At this point your oppenant had void rays and a sizeable ground force, while you had a few rines and a bunch of medivacs. Once those voids hit he was able to whittle you down to 3 rines which then in return had to defend agaisnt 8 zeals and 2 immortals knocking at your front door. You need to focus on less production buildings. At the same time you need to hotkey these buildings and get the production going. You never built a single unit from your factorys and you only built units out of 2 of your barracks. 1 base can support about 2 rax 1 fac and 1 port. This will help you alot next game is all the money you save on buildings will go directly into units. What hot keys are you using for your buildings if any??? You also got stuck on supply at 35 for a minute and ahlf then stuck right at 43 for another mintue which hurt you a ton.
2) Scouting process- With your late reapers you were actully able to see a few buildings, however (correct me if im wrong its 2 am I didnt see any scans on his base. At the same time you made no effort to control any of the xel naga towers and did not move out of your base at all. This is very poor scouting that must be fixed. Versus toss the second my starport finishes I always build at least 1 viking, this allows me to help my rines out if they went void rays and also at the same time I can use it as my scout. Flying around their base I can always get sneak peeks at their gateway count army size and any tech buildings. That combined with scans and Xel Naga tower use always lets me keep good tabs on my oppenant and whats he doing. Using these 3 things you will find your game will imporve alot. Protoss has too many options for you to say determine anything hes doing without decent scouting. Even if you were prepared for those voids his ground army still would of crushed you.
You need to watch more replays of top T's and see what there builds are versus P. If your going to go reaper then you need to get them out very early to have any harassing potential. From there on the popular strats are either MMM w ghost support. Or you can do the Bio Raven Tank build. Work on your macro and scouting hardcore put stick notes in visible areas around your screen that say supply depots or build units. Out macroing a player at your skill level w the correct counter units will help immensly at your skill level. In conclusion you got outplayed this match rather than out imbalanced. With lack of scouting and macroing you let him build a superior army with ease and eventully take the game
