[H] How to counter Carriers PvP?

I just had a 45 minute PvP and my opponent ended up going Carriers late game.... I thought I had a clear advantage in the game and that I could deal with this threat no problem..

Anyways I used Stalkers, Fenix, and Void Rays....

storms, void rays (probably need 2:1 rays vs carriers to be effective), canons, stalkers.
I dunno if phoenix are that great vs carriers. Maybe using some sentry bubble fields would help too, they reduce 2 damage per hit and ceptors do 6+upgrades. That's a huge hindrance on their DPS (6x6 = 36 6x4 = 24, and add what ever armor into that too).

Since storms duration is greatly decreased I imagine the damage against interceptors would be great in comparison to SC1 which had a difference in damage, but in a greater length of time.

Actually i think the duration of storm is pretty much the same as in BW, just reduced damage.
Correct me if i'm wrong, that's just how it feels to me

Stalkers + Sentries + void rays are pretty damn good vs carriers if you can focus fire well and got blink. You can blink the entire pack unter the carriers so they are all in range. Stalkers do full dmg vs carriers, which should be armored last time I checked. If you got a the micro to put a ray on every carrier, you will outdps the carrier player while he simply can't kill your units fast enough, at least when you have even army sizes.

Void rays are highly effective, if you see carriers coming, upgrade your air armor for your void rays, makes a huge difference vs carriers,

If we're talking a strictly Carrier army, Sentries and Stalkers is all you need, really. Phoenixes are a waste against Carriers IMO. They do 5x2 damage to Carriers, whereas Stalkers do 14 (and Stalkers get a bigger return from weapon upgrades). Not to mention, Stalkers are cheaper (125 50 vs 150 100) and you can pump them out MUCH faster.

While Phoenixes do have 60 Shields 120 Health vs a Stalkers 80 S 80 H, Stalkers have 1 armor compared to a phoenixes 0. Not to mention, Stalkers clump much better, allowing more of them to benefit from the Sentry Bubble. Sentry Bubble + 1 Armor upgrade = Stalkers only take 2 damage per interceptor.

Take this scenario:

10 Carries:
60 Supply
3500 Minerals
2500 Gas

26 Stalkers + 4 Sentries:
60 Supply
3450 Minerals
1700 Gas

The stalkers and sentries will win every time as long as you micro them (right click is hard) to attack carriers. With blink and +2 weapon upgrade, you can literally blink under a carrier and your stalkers will kill a carrier in 1 volley.

After several tests of this matchup, I would always have 12-14 stalkers and 1-2 sentrys left. Also, if you were to keep adding equal supply of carriers vs. Stalker+sentry, the matchup continues to skew further in the favor of the ground army.

Why was he warned for this post, it seems perfectly valid.

Btw if you think pew pew is something innapropriate its the sound a layzor beam makes so there ya go.

I'd say try Stalkers. Bait the carriers in, blink, and then snipe some.
