Description and Notes: Extremely standard map, meant to enable both aggressive or defensive macro play. The colors, vegetation and aesthetic are meant to represent a beautiful Japanese temple in spring.
- Base layout inspired by Overgrowth's tournament-tested layout.
- The natural is easy to wall off as both Protoss and Terran. Protoss needs only 2 Gateway sized buildings to wall off.
- The third is close enough to the natural to be defensible, but far enough that it's not free. With two possible angles of attack, it's vulnerable enough to midgame timings that aggressive strategies can prosper.
- The 4th base located at the bottom left/upper right corner is close to the 3rd and relatively easy to defend, allowing both Protoss and Terran to take a reliable 4th and therefore transition to the lategame vs Zerg.
- The 5th base is quite open, but relatively close to the natural by ground and the main by air. This allows Zerg to secure a 5th and connect it with creep, thus allowing a transition to the lategame.
- The 6th base, a gold, is very open to attack. The bridge that connects it to the natural is blocked off by large rocks, and the choke points at the ramps are huge. There's also enough space below the cliff that the mineral line can be sieged from the low ground. The idea here is that the gold base is not impossible to hold, but that holding it in the early game requires a strategy built and centered around it.
- There's a watch tower at each gold base. Controlling a tower allows you to spot the ramp leading into your opponent's natural, but it's LOS does not cover the edges of the map, as well as alternative pathways (such as the ramp from the enemy gold). This rewards players for keeping control of the watch towers without making the towers overpowered.
- Map is currently published as Sakura Shrine in NA, EU and KR servers.
