Hi, everyone,

Just uploaded an extension mod called Arbiter Mod 0.1 PreAlpha on the NA and SEA server.

Credits to Kailniris, SoulFilcher and Hammer107 for the Arbiter assets.

Also credits to Kueken531 for his Weekly Data Exercise #3 on Auras.

Arbiter concept:

Weapon : Phase Cannon (similar to the Photon Cannon's weapon)

Ability : Time Dilation

Similar to the Mothership's Time Bomb, however :-
1. the spell cast is instant and not a target spell.
2. the spell cast is not static which means it surrounds the arbiter even while it is moving.
3. slows enemy units (within the spell field) but does not slow enemy missiles (as it would be a double whammy for Terran)

Ability : Single Recall

Recall any friendly unit to the Arbiter.

Any feedback from the community would be great. However, this is not a balance mod yet as no changes on the Zerg and Terran units were made. Only campaign units were added.

This and reaver and remove disruptor and oracle from the game.

I don't understand why the Recall is even worth using or research if you have the Mothership core.

I don't get the point of this, if we can't test it with other units in regular SC2 due to campaign problems.

To add the warp diversity in circumstances where mass recall will only warp units back to the Nexus, single recall will warp (only a single unit) to a specific map point depending on the arbiter's location. It is about adding diversity in the warp mechanics.

I don't get the point of this, if we can't test it with other units in regular SC2 due to campaign problems.


Give me about a day or two, and I will be able to restore all the regular multiplayer units.

Feel free to test all the changes to Terran, Zerg and Protoss in Arbiter Mod 0.2 PreAlpha. Just restored all the regular units, abilities and removing all the campaign ones.

By the way, if BW's Arbiter is implemented to SC2, there will be some overpowered issues such as stasis (else known as Vortex) was removed as such. Also, without regulating mass recall, mass arbiter strategy will also be an issue.

Stasis and Vortex are entirely different spells. Stasis renders an area of units, friendly or not, invulnerable. Vortex pulls all those units together, sure impervious to damage but due to clumping, easy splash from Archons etc would sack a maxed out army in a second, there's no limit to how much can go into the Vortex; whereas Stasis had a distinct area of effect.

Arbiter would only work if the Mothership (+Core) were removed. And Arbiters don't feel terribly useful due to warpgate as well; you already ruin defenders advantage with Warp Gate. Arbiters were used to fly into bases and suddenly drop in a bunch of goons and zealots into a base. But with Warp Prisms you can get that sense of tech a near two tiers earlier, and for much cheaper.
