One could argue Overgrowth but eh... one and the same.

But unless I went crazy with the high grounds it wasn't going to turn out much different.

Edit: Originally, there were some level differences in these spots but the map felt too choked up.

If the ladder pool was 7 Cloud Kingdom variants then I would be a very happy Sated.

EDIT:

Some of those gas geysers look very far apart from one another though. I assume they still work like normal geysers, but it looks very strange.


Yeah it does look off but they all work normal :D just my mineral formations are a little different than some people's.

Looking back, I may put some high ground back in that were connecting the centres a bit.

I agree with you etc in the highgrounds, they are not strictly necessary imo but they would do good in this map.

Also JESUS FUCK MAN, that tile work is fucking incredible! Did you used copy/pasting for the textures (textures only)? or was it all manual+copy paste for symmetry/Symmetry tool?

No mirror tool for the tiles since they wouldn't paste without misaligning. You can see some differences in the main base texturing but with the rest I tried to match both sides the same, because why not :D

I'm really considering putting those hight grounds back in but won't until tomorrow. I need to sleep now!

Has the S shape, must be Cloud Kingdom. On the real though, I like this map. I don't see much in common with CK or even Overgrowth. The expansion patterns, and how each expansion plays, is vastly different on this map than CK or Overgrowth.

Love this version, the two low ground plains in the middle are rather sexy. Also love the detailing when you look at it closely.

Fantastic looking map. Reminds me of Doom, or the Mars level from ME3. So basically it makes me think of Mars is what I'm trying to say. We haven't had anything like that in the map pool. Hopefully you'll find a way to sneak it in.

I love the tileset, I love how similar the flow is to Overgrowth's (the best HotS map with Frost if you ask me). Love this map !

Any map with a high ground S that snakes through the middle of the map will superficially resemble Cloud Kingdom. Anyways, I think you made the right choice adding the high ground back in. I really like the map layout and it looks gorgeous too. One thing I'm not entirely sold on is that high ground blocker in the very center of the map. I understand why you put it there, to better protect those two center expansions, but it still feels too constricting to me.
