and honestly those 2 games are the only zvt games I've played against good players in at least a month.

eri, when do you think it would be useful to research broodlings in ZvT? I understand why esnare is usually better, but I wonder when would it be worthwhile to research also broodlings (maybe late game if he counters ultras with mass tanks?). Please enlighten me

I haven't researched broodling zvt in a couple of years. it can be good zvp but I really never use it. my style of play makes scenarios where I have tons of ultras and he has tons of tanks happen like, never, tho.. but it just takes so long to get 150 energy, especially because there's usually some battle going on where you want to use ensnare, or just against a dropship or against vessels on irradiate raids. in addition broodling is really annoying against terran because often the queens end up getting too close, throwing the broodling and then the queen dies before the broodling hits and then it has no effect at all. (unlike ensnare)

parasite is often worth throwing, in this game I never did it because my recon was always good and my queens always had to throw ensnares instead.

and incontrol the problem is that I don't macro like a good zerg. honestly I thought my execution in this game was really crappy. it's just that I use queens in almost every battle and I always try to scourge vessels and that gives me an advantage. but there are probably 20 zergs outside korea who would be able to play like this only much better if they gave it some serious effort. then again many of those zergs have equal success playing how they normally play, so why would they change.

The replay was highly entertaining however, I especially liked the part where you ensnared a group of vessels so they couldn't get to marines in time and scourged them.

I can't imagine why two people in this thread have commented on how good your macro was though, I was weeping over it.

From what I saw, the Queens actually did very little to contribute to the win.

With early attacks and the disabling of Strelok's first expansion, made possible by Dark Swarm, you put him out of his rhythm and made his inexperience show.

Queens are about as useful in a game of Starcraft as a pair of sweaty balls are on The View.

.. I wouldn't have won the first decisive battle without ensnare and then I would never have gotten to pressure his expansion. that was the key point in the game. without ensnare he could have ran from the dark swarm and delayed my advance until he had vessels to irradiate my defilers with.

apart from the first battle they're not necessary, they just make 12 marines seem like 8 and give my lurks some extra kills. meaning that if he has twice the necessary amount of rines they don't matter, but if he has barely enough then they do.
you're just too stubborn and really not good enough to be stubborn. when ret says queens suck at least it means something cause he'd beat me more often than not tvz, even tho he's also ignorant of their effects.

I really don't think wisdom and practice correlate at all. I've been with the game atleast as long as you have, and my inability to be competitive at the top of the game back when I was 15 and still played to win games is irrelevant in this matter.

You will win more battles with a Queen in play than you would with a few hundred of each resource dead in your stockpiles, that's granted. The real question for debate here is whether or not the resources spent on a Queen and Ensnare would've been better spent on other upgrades, on additional units, or on Hive tech.
