Really great game, but what was the "1 play" we were supposed to be looking out for? The dropships?

When I'm a terran player and I'm that much behind, it's really hard to come back. Your first attacks mm/tanks get slaughtered, and it's hard to rebuild a strong force because their army keeps getting bigger while yours get smaller. If you go spend too much time building up, sometimes the zerg'll have the whole map by the time you're ready.

The dropships completely turned the game around and made it possible for nada to comeback. It also frustrated the zerg (I'm assuming) which forced him to counter nada's expo hastily. He succeeded in killing the expo, but lost a lot of men in the process. After his remaining men were killed and the dropships were dealt with, the zerg was behind around 30 supply if I remember correctly. Before the dropships, the zerg was ahead in supply.

THAT is how you take advantage of superioer APM and multitasking ability.

I hate to crash a party, but am I the only one here who doesn't think this is Nada ?

1. Nada's APM is usually over 400. I know the game was longer, but Nada does much better than that in TvZ.
2. Nada's low APM never drops below 220. Just check any of his laters replays.
3. Watched a recent game, In_Dove vs Intro something, the T had the exact same style: 8+ rax and 12 SV's. I haven't seen many Nada vs Zerg matches lately, but he always uses tanks. IIRC.
4. Nada plays BETTER than that. I'm not saying I rock or anything, I'm just an average SC person, but just watch Nada's moves at Blizzcon. Crazy micro. This guy loses marines to lurkers when he could pull back np.
5. Surely progamers don't have THAT much time to fool around with semi-pros. They are busy with their leagues.
6. Progamers are on a different level than these semi-pros. Whenever a semi-pro is accepted into the pro leagues, he gets his ass kicked for like a year or so before putting up some fights.

I'm definitely going to get flamed for these, but please, fire away your arguments. IMHO, this player is none other than In_Dove, or someone with a similar TvZ style.

the only one who could prove this is romad

but to propose the other side:

1) sometimes even NaDa will drop his apms from 400 to 370, and maybe even (gasp) below 220, while scratching his balls or picking his nose. it happens.

2) In_Dove (nor any other terran) does not have a monopoly on using an SK Terran strat, and NaDa's SK Terran is better than most, and he uses it plenty.

3) even progamers have the right to play less than perfect games, especially friendlies where they're probably playing less than 100%. even progamers make micro errors, they lose rines to lurkers, they forget to make depots, and they even fart in public once in awhile. and jy played very well, you have to give him credit too. the mindset that any progamer versus any non-pro in any game ever is autowin is ridiculous.

4) many progamers play plenty with non progamers, especially those in their guilds. nada even participates in clan tourneys where sea is involved. semi-pros beat progamers on a routine basis online and in practice games, although it is a different story when the games really count for something or they're live broadcast games (although upsets do happen on occasion also). for example i'm guessing there will be at least a few losses by the korean pros at WCG this year.

even if this terran isn't NaDa (although i would guess that it most likely is), this is really really impressive dropship play-- in fact i've never ever seen it done as it is here. his use of dropships at a point (where it wouldn't have been strange to quit the game) completely flips the entire mediocre play of the terran's early/mid game in which he got roundly got spanked by the zerg

Thanks for your answer, uhjoo. Your arguments are reasonable and it's good to get a mature reaction for once and not "retard" and shit like that that folks usually get when posting such statements.

Plus, you're very probably right, it could be Nada, you probably know better.

Anyway, it IS an OK game and one with a strange twist. Enjoy !

That was pretty great, I wondered why the terran didn't have ANY tanks for such a massive hydralurk attack, but it was an enjoyable rep, and i missed probably 75% of the action. This is a rep I shouldn't have watched in 2x speed.

pretty nice game, but from reading the posts beforehand i was disappointed with the 4 dropship thing.
i liked more that he kept ferrying them back to the exps over and over

all of the dropship stuff was amazing. I didn't even notice all of them the first time around. After zerg had attacked I looked back to see a whole bunch of hatchery craters and empty mineral lines

At first I wondered why he wasn't doing anything with all those dropships.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the zerg's 67 supply after the big attack.

Then I looked at the minimap and thought, "WTF".
During practice session, I discovered very good build against zerg. -Bisu[Shield]

Amazing play by NaDa, I was most impressed when he was constantly dropping all the zerg bases simultaneously.

that's very true, I hardly ever bother with tanks unless I think the zerg is good. but then I make some.

and tomcat the gap between pro and semipro is very, very small in online games. progamers DO lose huge groups of units due to bad micro. and yeah the dropships were really nice but zerg did horrible job defending against them. (he pretty much made the worst decision he could have made. )

really cool game anyway tho.

the biggest mistake by zerg was not to re-expand, imo. he was probably busy defending against more drops and managing his army but he made it really easy for the terran in the end. the terran even flew through all of the expos at one time thinking there would be new hatcheries but they were still all empty.
amazing play by terran still. for most ppl the game is 100% over when you have lost your army twice in such a terrible way and the zerg hasn't lost a single expansion yet.
i'd love to see it in the pimpest plays (especially that moment where he d-matrixes them and clones! his dropships to different expos).

Obviously the 4 simultaneous drops was amazing, but I also thought a cool moment was the battle created by the t massive massive zerg counter attack. Nada (if it is he) just holds the ramp agains a stupidly large force, and while it's all happening is doing yet more drops.

One of the best replays i've ever seen.

Also cool that suddenly replays are being put up on site, cheers
