Hey there!
I'm totally fresh to the Starcraft scene. Even though I have more or less been raised in a close proximity to an computer with SC on it. Ever since I've been a little I never took quite enough interest in strategy games. Of course I have played them; titles like Age of Empires, Warcraft I/II, Civilization, Settlers etc but I never felt a urge to go competitive. I never actually sat down and played SC when I was young, why- I don't know. Many of my friends played ALOT of Starcraft when we were young, and they still are.
Coming in as a newcomer to SC can be pretty harsh! Took me a good month or so to even begin to understand the complexity and depth of this RTS game. After browsing streams and watching a lot of replays I'm completely hooked, I just keep falling down the rabbit-hole. I'm blown away.
I'm a very competitive player. I always try to be the very best and play to the best of my ability. I think that is why I never really felt that starting playing Brood War was a good idea. I hate to lose, and playing against 11-12 years old veterans and Koreans just felt stupid and that it would take to much time to catch up to them. But I'm hoping now with the release of SC2 we can see a few new faces. Past experience from brood war will surely pay off no doubt but I think at the very least there is a chance for us newbs!
Since the release of beta I've been playing more or less non-stop, whenever I get the chance to. Real life is a bitch. I have a MMR around 3200~ and my main race is Protoss, my play style is sort of standard whereas my macro game is my strong suit. You will see me do a lot of blink stalker micro vs zerg, 1 gate robo expand vs terran w/ a lot of high templar, and 4gate robo expand or pressure into mass gate vs Protoss. You can find my stream here on team liquid. I play a lot of random when I'm using my smurf accounts and I'm steadily grasping Zerg and Terran. My TvT, TvZ and ZvP is what I'm having most problems with. My stream is usually up between 18.00>01.00kst~ or 10.00>16.00~ GMT.
