For those who don't know:
DMZ is
[image loading]

It can be downloaded as part of the map pack on this thread.

Because of the small distance between bases on this map, most 2v2s on DMZ (the map was for 2v2 only) involved both teams using T/Z and proceeding to a tandem SCV/5 pool rush.

DMZ was by all means a poorly designed map, but I wish I would have voted for the obligatory joke option now =p

Perhaps a neutral building or mineral block at the ramp to the center would have fixed the SCV/5 pool cheese but I think there would still be problems.

they should have moved the entrances to the outer ring or just make the ramps 815 style. Either by increasing the distance or making it easier to block rushes the map would have been interessting.
Someday, you’re going to fuck up so magnificently, so ambitiously, so overwhelmingly that the sky will light up and the moons will spin and the gods themselves will shit comets with glee. And I just hope I’m still around to see it.

last night's mbc/ace match on DMZ was a really good game;
enough to make me vote to say that it shouldve been kept around for more games

if you mean the MBC/ACE match on DMZ it's here

If you're looking for games on DMZ in general look around using the tracker in tandem with the proleague threads.

Worker wars are somehwat entertaining to watch, lose thier appeal after the 5th time though.

They really should just correct the map for next season, maybe with a neutral building or block like some have said so we can see some mid/late games on DMZ.

I agree that it was a bad map, but the games were actually exiting to watch. Despite that the fact the strategy was almost always the same, it came down to a lot of smaller decisions however those little decisions became much more strategically important than they would be in a normal game making for some very unique games.

No, the map was awesome, because the games were easy to watch (short & simple).

I voted for the BadFriend and stuff, but it probably because the map was not well made and the poor testing. :p.

Fucking horrendous map. SCV rushes every fucking game, and if you don't SCV rush, you're most likely to lose. I think I saw one game where a terran didn't SCV rush and the team actually managed to win. Horrible. Awful.

Honestly, 4 players' peons in an orgy in one base is fun to watch especially when progamers are doing it, but not every time the map is played, then it just gets bland.

I think it's a fun map.

I saw two or three matches on that map, although they all started with SCV/6 pool, but they were both relatively long (so I heard) games, with Goliaths and Mutas (Zomg!)

I think 2v2 is boring to watch compared to 1v1, so I like the action packed games on DMZ that are over fast.

Didn't see the games, but the map looks/plays kinda stupid. I wouldn't ban it just because of the rush strats though.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

never saw a 5poolrush on that map, since that would mean kwan kwang by the scvrushing terrangeee.

its kinda not fair how OGN got this like 1 time and other 5 2v2 games are on CoF.
On other hand, KTF owns CoF twice but got DMZ like 4 times.

probably rig to favor some team.

Hey I've noticed that in VODs, the air units (muta/overlords) were going UNDER the disruption webs. How is that possible? And does it mean it affects air attacks too? (I'm guessing no, but it was a weird sight to see)

idk, I almost wish the map had stayed in, it was something unique, I think it should have been explored some more, so a map with the same or a similar concept could be made and much less poorly executed.

I didn't see any games on it, but I hear it played pretty badly =/ Was just a poorly executed concept.

btw, where is "good that it's removed, now add a bwm map" option for voting?

That option is in your imagination =p

But seriously, uploading some of your best maps to mapdori could eventually give you a decent chance at that, no? [actually I dunno exactly how pro maps are picked <_<]

To my knowledge GF and YellOw only played 2 games together. Both were on DMZ. Both times YellOw got peon rushed. Both of the times GoodFrienD was a bad friend.
