I'm shocked that people are complaining about $40 for the expansion. Expansions have always been $40, even back in the mid 90's when $40 was a lot more money than it is now, and full games were $50.
Not to mention the quality of development have went up a lot. Sure theres a couple less missions than BW had, but the missions are much larger, have full CGI and full cutscenes, all sorts of extras like minigames, leveling, achievements, come along with upgrades to the editor and all the extra features modern games have. A lot more development work in to modern expansions.
Not to mention BW only came like 7 months after SC1 came out. If they tried something like that nowdays people would go nuts. Hell UMvC3 came out in longer time than that after MvC3 and people went crazy.
Guarantee if they announced LotV was coming out 7 months after HotS people would say it's bullshit because we would be paying for fixes that should have been included in HotS for free, they are just milking us, and so on. Yet this was accepted in the 90's? And they charged $40 for it! lol
could be there ppl buying CoD every year by $60. but you know, not everyone is so mindless.
there are FULL games in $20 or less, torchlight, CSGO, DOTA2.
so yeah, $40 is a lot, the gameplay is not a huge change. and all the social features were expected in 2010, because, you know they existed in battlenet 1.0
im not buying... being watching streams recently, not happy with how the game changed, plus zerg is gonna be more OP (and im zerg myself vipers and fake-lurkers is way too strong). if i get to buy it ill prolly switch terran... even tho the mine thing is horrible idea. ill prolly just stop playing sc2 and start playing dota2 competitively.
Preordered the collector's edition on day 1 of TL.net link.
Say what you want, but Blizzard has given me thousands of hours of entertainment, and they provide quality products (that's right, I believe their products, even diablo 3, were of a good quality). I do not feel that their pricing scheme is bad, and am more than willing to shell out a little more for a company that has done so much for me over the years. I spent $30 on the borderlands 2 season pass, and I don't think that I got nearly as much out of that as I've gotten out of even the beta for HotS.
Pre-ordered collector's edition almost immediately, one of the easiest gaming decisions I've ever made. I mean, if I've been playing WoL consistently since it came out, I'm not going to just stop playing when an exiting new expansion comes out =p
I would get it for sure if I thought the campaign and custom maps would be good, but I doubt it. I thought the campaign of WoL was garbage, so I'm not enthused about that like some other people are.
Pre-ordered As soon as came available. WoL has been about the best $60 ever spent. Even if I don't get near the same enjoyment/time/cost ratio out of HotS, I have already got enough moneys worth out of the series to carry me through LotV.
idk i mean i know blizz puts alot of effort into the game. esp their cinematic dept. who are top notch but i feel that they didnt do enough for the multiplayer , though i will eventually get to play thru the single player as i did enjoy WoL single player and im not even really a terran player xD if custom games start becoming like the wc3 enviroment, i will for sure buy but really those have been quite lacking still. wc3 payed for itself like 10x over for me.. do that with sc2 plz!
Already ordered it, did that when it came out. I'm hoping it brings me back into the scene more, I've been watching tourneys but haven't been an active player as of late.
I am very shocked that 14% said they will not buy it. Wow. Especially seeing this in a serious SC2 site like TL... Sigh. $40 is not too much for an expansion you will spend 2+ years on...

I think majority of the reason why most people dont want to buy the game is cuz of the time that blizzard takes immediate action when it is necessary. Naturally, most people will deviate to other games.
