I found it hilarious how cheap so many people are. I mean come the f*** on guys, they release 2 games in the course of 3 years totalling at about 80$ and you think its too expensive? what a joke. Look at call of duty, they release a 50$-60$ game every year and their community buys it. "40$" is too expensive, what a joke!

The story from sc2 WoL wasn't Blizzard quality that I experienced from SC1. Hoping that I will be wrong, but Im gonna read some posts about the campaign before I spend my time on it. Please, I hope Blizzard don't use a Hollywood recipe for the story.

i dont understand one thing, is 40$ really that much in US? I come from country where average sallary is 250-300 euro and i will buy hots in a blink of an eye as it will provide more entertainment bang for the buck than anything else, people are so vocal about supporting their favorite game but now it seems 40 bucks is a deal killer... WTF?

I don't think it's purely about the hight of the price, it's that quite a few people are dissapointed in how SC2 turned out or simply don't enjoy the game anymore. Then, spending 40€/$ on a game you won't be really playing is kinda of a waste.

I havn't loaded up SC2 and played a game in something like 6 months now. I would probably only buy HotS for the campaign as things are right now. If I grow bored of the other games I play I'll buy it since it is a good game, I simply don't have the time for it.

I dunno how 40$ is to much for an expansion that's coming out almost 3 years after the original. I'm assuming the people saying this have never played COD or almost any fps for that matter. Me I'll be purchasing it, the game is still fun and 40$ is reasonably priced if you ask me.

I'm too hooker on Dota, to be honest. I don't have that much time to play and I'm not gonna be able to put in the dedication needed to be good at it (and I only enjoy it at high level) so probably not. Maybe in the future when I have more time but, as it is now, I can only play 1-2 games a day.

im not playing imbalanced game , and terran are worst that in wol ,
blizzard secretely hate the terran race and alway nerf them ultra fast and have never buff them in any way .
and you where required to have 2-3x the skill of the other race for win ( was playing mid-high master )

would have buy hots but terran look even worst here , and soon all the new unit terran got will be nerfed into the ground .
also im just HATING this game that not even a real RTS , most people ALWAY play the same .
everyone sim city build , for exemple zerg make 50-60 drone before ONE unit and if one race got something for attack them before the 15 min mark or force them to stop make drone , it got nerfed right away .

the game = big 200-200 army fight who end up in one big battle who last under 30 sec and most game take 15-20 min to reach this point.

then i quited , no THX , never again . and most of the time i was angry more that happy playing this stupid game .

if the game drop under 10 $ maybe i will buy it for play some custom but in my eye this game dont even worth 10 $....

I'm really surprised by some of you. I found the WoL campaign to be very well done. The same can be said for multiplayer (although of course it would be nice for it to be completely balanced all the time...). The game is just an overall improvement over BW in almost every way.

Of course it's not going to be as revolutionizing as SC1 and BW because it's not the first of it's kind so don't expect it to be. I tried to wait for the WoL price to go down before purchasing it but I ended up getting it a year and a half later when it was still $60 XD

I will definitely be getting HOTS as soon as it comes out.

I happily paid 60€ for this expansion, considering the value of the game itself and the extra goodies for World of Warcraft and Diablo 3 players.

However, I do not understand how 40€ can be too much for an expansion considering the costs involved in the production of the expansion, but more importantly the value of the product. Considering how much content the new expansion will offer, such as hours of campaign, arcade games, custom games, training, multiplayer and more. Personally I am a big fan of the achievements as well, making me want to explore the whole game to unlock as much bling as possible.

If these people are not buying the game because they aren't interested in the new content and features, that is your decision. But please don’t rant about a high quality game costing the low price of 40$, it makes you look stupid and cheap.

Simply just estimate how much time and effort you will put into the game and weigh it up against the cost. Personally, that is going to be endless hours of entertainment and competition compared to a 50-60€ game I complete in 10-30 hours.

If I should compare the cost of SC2 WOL & HOTS against the 7 years subscription and 4 Expansion packs while I played WOW. It is going to look like 100€ Vs 2000€. (And yes I spent more than necessary on pixel swag)

Cancelled my pre-order. Dota and LoL are more fun to play.
Only reason I would end up buying it is to play the campaign.
