If it is a BW TSL, do it now. Else, don't bother

I wouldn't miss a match, but I think they can hold back a bit. Maybe a week or so? :D

Do it now, the quals take long enough that by the next time the tourney proper comes along it'll have been at a decent interval.

I hope the people that have voted for all other options than "Start qualifiers now" are trolling..

I voted once a year. I like tournaments to be very special, and right now we have a lot of SC2 going on as is. If TSL goes to 2-3 times per year, I think it becomes just another tournament, and not "the" international tournament.

Do it 2 times a year.

1 BW TSL
1 SC2 TSL

And we are all happy ^_^(except the organizers )

oK ok, even though I voted for open qualifiers Naow, maybe everyone is right. Hold the phone on the next tourney so It retains prestige.

Though, doing a qualifier system, somewhat like a poker tournament, would be interesting.. Open Qualifiers, Random Ro'X'/tourneys, and events strung throughout the year, offering up an invitation to select few people, and the ability to register to each of these 'invitation' events regardless if you were knocked out of any other event.

Just my 2 cents, and it's probably been/being done.

Once a year. Keeps it special, means that winning the TSL actually means something as opposed to... y'know... nothing.

Twice a year would be perfect imo. To keep it special and let people remember there is such a thing as TSL. (<3)

I'm thinking of the Olympics and how the rarity and prestige of the event can turn even the most mundane competitions into something worthwhile.

I would not be opposed to a true team liquid league but keep the TSL something special and let the anticipation build up between events.

I voted "wait a bit", even though I am bored already and in desperate need of more TSL. But I think the TSL should remain something special, and it should be 2 times a year max.

I am actually tempted to argue in favour of decreasing the interval between TSL now. If everything turns out to be fine, everyone is happy. If doing so leads to disaster, then I can laugh at the majority's face.

I am very strongly of the opinion that the TSL should only be once a year. That makes it like the Olympics, compared to things like MLG, NASL and GSL, which are more like normal leagues. I tune into NASL at night for a game or two, and I watch GSL now and again on my break at work. During the last four weekends of the TSL, I hooked my computer to my big screen, invited all my friends over, bought beer and made a big dinner. I can do that if it's once a year. If it's more than that, it just won't be special enough.

Also, my wife would leave me. She's very supportive of my SC2 life, but there are limits. Please, for the sake of my marriage, don't overdo the TSL.

Edit to add: If the resources and the interest is there, it would be really cool if you did a BW TSL, as some of the other posters are suggesting. I've actually really gotten interested in BW (I was one of those silly people who just thought it was a game when it came out and stopped playing after a couple years) as a result of my interest in SC2, and I'd love to see a foreigner tournament. Given that most of the big foreign names have moved over to SC2 since its release, though, I don't know if the level of talent in the foreign player pool is high enough for a TSL (I'm not trolling foreign BW players, I honestly don't know).
