Exactly what AmericanUmlaut said. Starcraft needs an olympic/world cup event where it happens occasionally not every other month. While seeing all of the games from these tournaments is awesome, at the end its kind of like, oh there's another winner... we already have like 7. Like MC's 2 code s victories were ridiculously close together. Not to take anything away from him, it would just be AMAZING if there was one HUGE tournament every year or so.

Just adding my voice to the crowd - I think that once(my vote) or perhaps twice a year is perfect.

Actually, I think that once a year is optimal, but darn do I want me some more TSL action! It is easily the best SC2 tournament I've watched, and I think it should be a special event with as large a prizepool as possible, bringing in the best talent, and having the players focus on the event and truly bring their A game. This might be possible with a twice-a-year setup, however, provided that there's enough money for a competetive prizepool and enough passion and engangement from the staff so that it can be at least as good as the TSL3.

In short - 2 times a year tops, and only if it can be made as big and as good as TSL3. But I still want more...

woot!

I'm thinking maybe once every 2 to 3 months making people wait makes its more intense. Plus so many things are going on every night anymore GSL to NASL plus all the other tournaments. MLG is coming up and people don't have enough time to prepare for 3 to 4 different people a week. For the best games you need to slow things down and spice things up. Waiting sets up anticipation, and anticipation makes a better and more exciting event.
Banelings? We don't need no stinking Banelings! But I'll allow it.

i agree with everyone else... seems like a majority wants a biannual TSL i think that would be great. It would give time for the players and for the TL community to plan stuff out. Also because it isnt a regular event the hype would be bigger and it would bring bigger crowds which means better sponsors which means bigger prize pools which means kick ass players... just my thoughts

honestly, one a year is good, especially if it has the most prize money of any foreign tournament.

while $15,000 is obviously great money, it's is not as significant as the $10k in BW since that was by far the most prize money of any tournament that a foreigner had a realistic chance of winning. It was like the superbowl of foregin SC, it drew out the best foreigners, even those who had been inactive like nony or draco. The ladder process was the best, since anyone had an equal opportunity of making the top 48 and ultimately winning. Obbiously, it also drew the largest number of non-korean fans, and was a great way for new people to join and appreciate the community.

If the TSL has the most prize money, and is held once a year in SC2, it will hold a similar level of intensity to what it was in BW, especially since it still has the legendary name of TSL.
In order to move forward, we must rid ourselves of that which holds us back. Check out my stream and give me tips! twitch.tv/intotheskyy

I think once a year would be the best, it adds to the prestige of wining the tournament and also adds to the hype, this could be like the yearly world cup like thing :D. Running the tournament too often makes it feel less exclusive and more normal. Moderation in everything is good, but for some things scarcity is better. Hence I think once a year is besty.

Put me in the once a year camp. Doing a foreigner team league would absolutely rock. Or, perhaps, have it go country vs. country for fun and bragging rights? Then again, I'm not sure if we could handle the trolling that would occur.

2/year.
Or 1/year and an epic 2v2 tournament, because I feel a true team league needs to be created. =P

dont make TSL a common tournament, 2 times a year at max.

I agree with 2x a year. The more the tournament is run, the less exclusive and impressive it becomes. The previous TSL's could be compared to the Superbowl or World Series of e-sports. Keep the suspense, exclusitivity, and awesomeness of an epic 1 or 2 times a year tournament.

I am voting on once a year.
Remember that 12 months apart doesn't mean the TSL season itself is 12 months apart, just the finals/start time.
So that in reality it is a lot shorter since the qualifier and playoff process takes at least a month each.

i think that TSL is a great tourney, and in order to keep up the hype and importance i think once a year would be good. with the qualifiers and the length of the tourney itself the tournament already takes like 5 months anyway so it's not like its THAT long of a wait

Do it now, the TL Opens takes such a long time to finish anyway.

I liked how the other ones got so hyped up because they were so rare. I would like to see them more often though.

i'd say after HOTS is out or when the 'metagame' changed, or it's going to be exactly the same
