The 5th SuperFight will is using the concept "The Ultimate Race". It will be a series of battles between the 3 races, to determine the ultimate race.
Each race has 3 representatives (total 9). The first 3 are already chosen as Savior, NaDa, and Bisu since they were awarded best at the KeSPA Awards thingy. The last 6 will be chosen through an on-line poll. The poll consists of the top 30 ranked players from KeSPA plus 2 more additions, UpMagiC and Tester.
The format will be like this (I might have gotten this wrong so feel free to fix). There will be 3 rounds. The first 2 rounds will consist of 3 matchs: ZvT, PvT, and ZvP. After the 2 rounds, a 3rd Round will start, consisting of the 2 races with the best scores. (the 3rd race is out) 1 player from each race are presented and they play a bo1 to determine the ultimate race. (total of 7 games)
No player is allowed to play 2 matches in the same round, so we'll see a different player each game during that round.
The maps will be used from the new maps that are being chosen for the 2007 Proleague. The maps are currently being tested for balance, so each race will choose 1 map for one of their matches in each round. But the 3rd Round Final map will be a map neither have played on.
So to make it simpler, let me put it this way:
Date: March 31st Maps: 2007 Proleague new maps
Prize: Best Race: Total of $12,000 (3,000 each + coach) 2nd Race: Total of $8,000 (2,000 each) 3rd Race: Total of $4,000 (1,000 each)
I had a bug in fire fox where randomly hitting a key would sometimes mean back. I think it was L. I was about ten minutes into a glorious post to revive the hot girl thread. It put all my other posts to shame.
And it activated.
So are there 3 matches in a round per race? Would this mean each player plays once?
wow this looks awesome but i gotta wait a while till i get to watch it. i would pick t: midas and i guess sea. im not too sure about the second t p: rA and pusan z: jju and ggplay
Hum. Maybe: T: Midas and Light? Z: Jju and ... JIN-HO HYUNG! (ok, maybe the fake on will do) P: ra aannnddd Much, I guess. (I would so take anytime if it was any time during the fall. -.-)
oh yeah anyone think "ultimate race" + matler = scary? XD I bet $10 that within a day or two Koreans come up with another one of those majaeyoon = mini hitler movies.
Everyone picking Iris should remember that this is a battle between races, so he won't get to show off his superb TvT.. whereas someone like Light has monster TvP/TvZ and his weak TvT won't be a factor.
If zerg fans want zerg to win, they should pick Silver. Savior shoudl clearly play the zvt, and there is no zerg who has shown better results in zvp during the last 6 months than Silver.
Protoss - Bisu is more adept at pvz than pvt. Hence it's probably wise to choose either anytime or pusan, but both players' form have been fairly suspect as of late. Chances are, the votes will be ra/pusan. just a guess.
Terran - you really cant go wrong with many of the choices here.

In this Superfight, chosing criterion of player is KeSPA ranking during last year. So 30 player within 30th KeSPA ranking and some players included by recommendation. And Bisu, Nada, saVior was choosed because they awarded "best player of year" last week, at the 2th KeSPA Awards.
And KeSPA made the all new maps that used in this Superfight, to use in new Pro-league season.
I'm a Terran and I want Terrans to win. I would DEFINITELY not take IriS. His TvP and TvZ are not his best matchups. We're looking for T's that have strong off race matchups.
NaDa - Strong at everything, particularly TvZ and TvT. TvP is also very strong as well. IriS - Amazing TvT, used to be a poor TvZer but has improved a bit. TvP not really amazing. HwaSIn - Very strong TvZ, not very amazing TvT, TvP. GoodFrienD - Strong, but not amazing in all matchups. TvT's been thrashed quite a bit lately. CaSy - Very strong TvZ, very strong TvT (even though he got crushed by Iris), very mediocre/poor TvP. Light - Strong multitasking player. Decent TvZ and TvP, but TvT is very mediocre. Midas - Dropped quite a bit in the KeSPA March 2007 rankings because of a rather foolish decision as a voter. Midas has a strong TvZ, strong TvT, and an amazing TvP. His TvZ was not amazing a year ago but it has really grown strong. Sea - Strong TvZ, TvT, TvP. Sea is a very well rounded player but he does not have an amazingly strong matchup. XellOs - Oh how far my Terran has fallen. Called the "Perfect Terran" because he was so well rounded. Very strong TvZ and TvT, mediocre/strong TvP. Though he has been in a terrible slump, even I wouldn't want my favorite Terran on the three. FireBatHero - Strong TvZ and TvP. TvT kind of mediocre. iloveoov - Monster in everything. Though he's had a lot of trouble recently with his game. Bifrost - Ugh, don't know much about him. Know he has an okay TvZ. I hear his TvT isn't too good and his TvP is soso I guess. Canata - Too inexperienced but I hear he is a very strong performer in his team but just has a lot of problems with his nerves in games that matter. Up - This guy right now is a monster. Very innovative play. Monster TvT and TvP according to sources. TvZ pretty strong from what I've seen.
My Terran picks: NaDa for all around play (well he's already chosen) CaSy for his amazing TvZ Midas for his amazing TvP
I wonder if they'll go with entertaining lineups, or just strong lineups. I want: Zerg: July, either GGplay or fake Yellow (Draco thinks he's the best on OGN, so he's gotta be GAWDLEH) Protoss: rA and Stork (yeah, shut up, I know he can't play in this!) Terran: Casy and someone else, I don't care who takes this spot
Terran: -Midas (TvP wh0re and one of the very few Terrans that can pose a threat to Savior) -Iris (IMO all his matchups have improved so much, and given his big momentum right now he is my choice)
Zerg: -Jaedong (I love his aggressive style, it's looking so fresh against all the macro players today) -Yarnc (There's still a big gap between him and Savior, but IMO fake Yellow is the #2 Zerg right now)
Protoss: -Much (One of the more consistent Tosses) -rA (The only big drawback he faced was PvP)
Terran: Midas is a given too me. Then there are a lot of good terrans but I would go with oov since it's more fun to see a big name than a currently hot player in this kind of event. Light, Casy and Iris would be my next choices in that order.
Protoss: Ra has to be in it, AnyTime will have to do.
Zerg: Hardest one. July and... GGPlay. Yarnc has skills but I have something against him (wonder why ). Would love to see if JaeDong is as good as people say, I haven't seen him play.
Zerg: Savior, July, fake Yellow or GGPlay Terran: Midas (for sure) and Sea or Iris (iris was strong in the last months but I think Sea is the new big terran )
PROTOSS: Bisu (to kill Savior^^), Ra (for sure he is the best toss to choose) and .... Pusan (I just like MBC and so I like him and his style)
I would like to take AnyTime as well but he sucks hard at the moment
wow that's one kickass format. i love the idea. perhaps it came about because a protoss finally raped a zerg in the finals? thereby making the race matchups look perhaps a little more balanced? either way, i can't wait for this. i think it'll be the best superfight yet! go protoss ^0^
I would love to see programmers play a 3.3 team melee. Put the 2 teams in the seperate room so they can talk and coordinate who controls or micros what and let them have at it. The micro would be amazing to watch ^_^.

And make sure they get bad Zerg maps or else Savior will win Superfight. Again.
Here are my picks: Terran - Midas, Sea.Up/Sea[Shield]/Canata (I want to see these guys play again, and they're respectable players as well.) Protoss - Nal_rA, Pusan (Rainbow can't play? poor guy ) Zerg - GGPlay/JulyZerg/Yarnc
zerg picks a map protoss picks a map terran picks a map other secret map
so there will be a Z map, a P map, and a T map. And one other.
that ONE OTHER must not be a zerg map eh? they're trying to cripple savior as much as possible... didn't you see the cast? it's obvious he got his ass kicked when he lost to bisu:
"come here.. come here! what happened? well.. im sorry.. its just... i was so tired...and.. silence! you will have to be punished! no coach please! ill win superfight 5 to make up for it! look! ill even play with my right arm broken! send in the Sodomizor! nooooo!"
i don't likem oov, but he's good agaoinst any race. midas has good TvP but Draco and Pusan beated him. let's vote for midas, he's the 2nd best player in the world (behind that arrogant and metrosexual sAviOr) Casy sux against toss, i think he's not a good choice. is firebat hero that good against z and toss? maybe it can be a good option (but is not popular) anyway, let's vote for Midas.
Nal_rA OR Anytime, but NOT BOTH maybe rA+Pusan or Anytime+Pusan but Anytime is not in good condition.
is much that good against terran?
form zerg, that july is very popular, but today, he is really bad. silver or jaedong for toss and YarnC for terran
didn't read the rest of the posts except the first 3 pages, but...
lol, it'd be hilarious to see the last map totally kept secret until the match itself... then they'd have to scout and figure out where the heck and how the heck to do anything. sure, they might not be able to utilize everything on the map and thus play a well 'mapped out' game, but hey, many times i've played a totally random blizz map with my friends that none of us have played on and it was so fun to have to figure out where everyone is and what the map really looks like.
it'd be fun to see a huge comeback late game because a player figured out something about the map that the other didn't know about.
A racial alliance could be interesting as players of different teams hook up to plan strategies to overcome other 2 races. I'm always rooting for the underdog, protoss fighting!
god dam, I really hope Anytime do soemthing good ther or I will be piss off. He play bad those day and other toss would have been a better choice (Pusan/Free)

just a thought.
would be priceless if one of them was a zerg and tried a 4 pool or something, then realized it was island.

yeah or if he 5pooled and then realised he was terran :S
Wasn't originally a savior fan (or anyone that chooses zerg for that matter). But seeing how he pwned everyone over the past year had triggered something in me; I became more and more addicted to see him own, lol
It was hard seeing him lose to Bisu and Nada like that..
Ma Jae-Yoon fighting!! The stage has been set for you to show your vengence!
