I thought all the top1 finishers for each wcs nationals got through to shanghai on auto? So ziki for uk etc etc? Or was it only certain countries? Germany France and Russia or something? :S

from the liquipedia page about wcs world championship:

32 players (24 players from the five continentals and 8 players from direct nationals seeds) will qualify for the World Championship in Shanghai.

You should also consider that LoL and Dota are team games, whereas sc2 is a single player game. U have to divide the pool into all 6 or so players. So its really and awesome prizepool and i think it should be honored as it is.

Oh Blizzard, the more time goes on, the more I realize you have become cheap money-grubbing bastards thanks to Activision (I blame them, not you). Valve has a much less hyped tournament, and they put out 10x the prize-pool, plus their company isn't even worth close to what you are. So sad, guess I'm just going to have to realize times change and move on.

wow some people here are really bad at math, if you compare the total prizepool of dota to starcraft 2, it doesnt matter that dota is a teamgame.... it only matters if you compare the first prize

Good prize pool. It's clearly above every other tournament but it doesn't dwarf everything like Dota's International and Riot's season final. Kinda bad though that they exact spread for the events isn't announced. Like in a few hours European finals start and we only know the total prize pool and not the exact spread. Anyway, hopefully WCS comes back early next year with Hots.
