Well, first of all poker is incredibly difficult now, I want to focus all of my competitive attention on learning it. first of all good luck in future Jinro and yes poker is very difficult nowadays. I learnd it early when Korn and i think some other BW players opend "Pokerstrategy" and gave you 5$ for doin a quiz on their site. Bythis time it was very easy to reach the mid stakes like 2$/5$. And i quickly reached 10$/20$ playin lik 8 tables the same time. But today all strategy and basics are easy to obtain by everyone and like SC2 more people know strategy and good basics. I retired from poker after some very heavy losses loosing nearly half my Bankroll. I cashed out and didn´t play for some years. Last year i tried it again and was surprised how good some players are on lowstakes. Today play 1$/2$ is like playin 10$/20$ in early 2000.

GL and HF man, hope you'll stick around!

I hope you can transition to a more normal life from this and be successful in your own way, i am sure you have made lifelong friends and maybe in 40 years time you can look back and say "hey remember when i played that PC game? good days".

Just wanted to advise you to keep the door open for the future. It's good to retire now, because I can tell from what you're saying that you're obviously burnt out, and if you keep chasing a dream you're not in love with right now you're never going to recover the passion you once had because you're just stacking fuel on the fire of burnout. but e-sports is only growing, you've got hoards of fans who will support you no matter what you do after seeing your heart and passion into those back to back round of 4 finishes, and when you take a year or two to look back on the scene from an outsider's perspective can change a lot emotionally and in terms of point of view and motivation. Although some of us are better at it than others, in general humans aren't built for repetitive behavior, and repetitive behavior is exactly what it takes to be the best in the world at something, and you see a lot of top athletes collapsing exactly under that pressure. Back in the day you rose quickly, and the skills you've learned in the past couple years never go away completely, even if they grow rusty. So yeah, retire now, but don't listen to anyone who calls you a quitter or tells you that your best days are behind you, and if the dream ever starts to itch again, remember there's MANY of us who would love to watch you rise again ![]() Remember Nestea's career. It would take something special to bring me back, but I'm not a rigid person and I'm open to circumstances changing. I would say it's unlikely, at best, though ![]() On August 07 2012 17:24 Wingate wrote: first of all good luck in future Jinro and yes poker is very difficult nowadays. The best 1/2 regs today would probably destroy 10/20 in 2006, a little scary yeah :D Anyway, I'm learning how to play PLO at the moment and I would like to split my time between live (there's some games in Korea, but also Macau) and online.
