Even as a writer for TL, I've never been the biggest Liquid fanboy, but I'm not afraid to admit that one of my favorite times in Starcraft was watching Jinro in the Open Season 3 and January seasons. I don't care what anyone says about how time degrades his accomplishments. Until a foreigner can make it to a finals or gets to three GSL semifinals, Jinro is the most accomplished foreigner in Korea and the most successful in GSL history. Damn right he is. Jinro, I've always been a big fan. You remind me a lot of Grr... or Elky, the forefathers of foreign starcraft success. You will be that legend for Starcraft 2. Best luck in your endeavors.

For me, I still remember the very moment that I felt my heart join with SC2 and Esports and it was during Jinro's game with MC round of 8 on the horrible map Scrap Station. Thank you Jinro and on behalf of the community I'd like to apologize for always taking more then we gave and expecting everything from you.

I wrote once to inControl during some drama that was going down, maybe it was just after providence and I felt the need to write to a pro I looked up to that one of the foreign pros I looked up to most was Jinro (I know, I told one pro I looked up to another, I'm a douche, but it was nicer than that I swear). I look up to Jinro even now because despite not making it back into the GSL he always gave it his damnedest and got close constantly (I truly don't think many other foreigners would have the same chance). The tenacity and drive shown by Jinro has always been inspiring. Regardless of what you do in the future, I hope you keep in touch with us here. We can all use a bit of stubborn-ness in our lives sometimes, and when we're being dicks, we need to be told. Keep fighting, sir. GL HF

I have a small Jinro story to tell. I was at MLG Anaheim in 2011, and I got to see him play live on the main stage, with an incredible nuke against Choya that won him the game and made the crowd roar. The day after the event, I was down in the hotel lobby waiting to check out. It was 4:50 in the morning and I was tired and kind of in a hurry to get back to the airport. There were three people in front of me, and one of them was Jinro. While he waited for the person in front of me, he was talking to a fan who had shown up just seconds before I did. I could tell that Jinro was also trying to get to the check-out desk quickly, that he was also in a hurry, but he kept answering the fan's questions in a polite manner, never once getting upset. The fan asked him all the usual questions fans ask, like how many hours he practiced, etc. I wanted to interrupt them, to say something like "Hey Jinro, talk to me, I'll ask better questions" but honestly I couldn't think of any. Then the person at the front desk finished and the moment was gone. Jinro took care of what he had to take care of and the fan disappeared. Take care, Jinro. I hope one day I can meet you properly.

I remember watching Jinro, seeing him play on the big stage. Seeing him be the only hope fore foreigners everywhere. Jinro stirred something inside of me that I will never forget. If it wasn't for Jinro, I wouldn't be in Korea trying my hardest to make it. I would have never lived in the prime house. I would have stayed in Canada and contiuned living a life I didn't enjoy. But because Jinro showed his passion for the game through his play, I was inspiried. I remember meeting you back during the code A qualifers a few months ago. It was my first qualifers, I was so exicited to meet you and get to speak to you. I was inspiried again to try and make it. The kindness you showed to me during my times at the Code A qualifers were amazing. The chance to speak to you and hear your thoughts on the game was something I won't forget. Until we cross paths again.

My defining memory of Jinro will be of his time in GSL and his macro terran style way before any other terran. I remember one moment especially, after holding an attack on Xel'naga he took a fourth and Artosis had a nerdgasm, never was taking another base so revolutionary and so exciting. Thank you for that and many other memories.
