Results for February 15 – February 28, 2011
Greetings and welcome to the first edition of International Tournament Roundup! Sick of wading through countless threads, posts, and articles looking for recent SC2 tournament results? The TeamLiquid International Tournament Roundup is the one-stop shop for all of your tournament result needs, and it's coming to you twice each and every month.

Total Prizemoney: ~11,200 USD (+ Prizes!)
Top Dog There's a ton of powerhouses outside of Korea, but who's this edition's top dog? Let's take a look at which players have posted the most impressive results over the past 2 weeks. Third + Show Spoiler [Third] + HasuObs !! His name only appears twice in this edition, but both of his appearances are lined with gold. HasuObs smashed through the scariest of all TeamSpeak TL Opens, snatching up the last qualification slot for TSL3. He also managed to bring home a Close Combat Cup. Total Prizewinnings: ~$240
Runner-Up + Show Spoiler [Runner-Up] + SeleCT !! This has been a monstrous couple of weeks for Select, despite his lack of 1st place finishes. He rallied back from a loss with a team-game win against Fnatic in the GameCreds Invitational, and was the highest placing foreigner in the FXOpen Invitational, falling only behind two dangerous Koreans from oGs. Additionally, he placed top 3 in two consecutive Close Combat cups, winning one of them. Select was right on the edge of taking the honor of top dog, but his lack of serious gold cements him as our runner-up. Total Prizewinnings: ~$340+
Top Dog + Show Spoiler [The Top Dog] + DIMAGA !! It was close, but the edge in this had to go to Dimaga. He took the gold home at the highly overlooked SC2tv.ru/Gametrix Invite Tournament and finished 2nd in the highly competitive Rage Gaming Open. He also won Go4SC2 cup #83, and walked away with the bronze at Close Combat #18. Dimaga continues to show solid results across the board, making him this edition's top dog! Total Prizewinnings: ~$530
Medal Podium
Note: only players with multiple podium appearances are included.
Next Edition: mid-March 2011!
Archive This is our first edition back, so stay tuned for more sometime around the 1st and 15th of every month! We'll also be keeping a detailed history of each and every one of these posts in the International Tournament Roundup Archive (Coming Soon!). This resource will serve as a detailed history of international events for years to come.

Omg I've been looking around for something like this, so glad TL decided to give these roundups!
Sooo many tournaments... with HasuObs really showing good performances this past week. Great job on the round up btw.
Really fun to check out! Love to follow my favorite players <3 what happened to sjow?
Very nice write up! There's so many small prize tournaments it really helps the growing of the scene. Great job!
such a good article thanks :D
awesome writeup, that must have taken a long time to gather information.
always good to see who has won wot and how much, hopefully this will continue for the entire month now!!!
Thank you sooo much for this! <3
Thanks a lot for doing this, very well done.
hasuobs also won the cyborg cup (200€) so it would be deserved for him to be first http://cyborgcup.sc2-inside.com/en/cup/15/grid/cyborg-cup-3.html he won the final vs satinii, don't know why it shows the result the other way
but anyway perfect results for hasuobs the last two weeks, won 3 cups and also won all his matches in the clanwars for mouz and germany
Awesome writeup! This was sorely needed. TY.
Thanks for the roundup. I love seeing the plethora of tournaments
This is awesome. I always miss some small tournaments espacially those in the US. Thanks alot for this.

Thanks for pointing that out, but...
Unfortunately I am unable to track tournament results if those who put the tournaments on don't even track them. Many tournament organizers completely fail to record accurate histories, dates, or brackets. The bracket on the site includes no date, has conflicting results to what supposedly actually happened, and keeps no record of this data either.
I do thank you for pointing this out though, and hope people continue to point out anything that may have been missed. Keep in mind that this is the first post back, and there's a lot of data to track, so it's natural that something may be missed from time to time.
Thanks for all the comments on our first post back! =)

pretty sweet to see tod won a tournament
are you trying to say that the top earning sc2 player outside of korea won 300$ total (in 2 weeks)? must have been a quiet week. that, or there is no progaming outside of korea

It's decided by most impressive results, not most money earned. The two are not exactly always related.
shout out to combat...showing up in toronto and smashing all in his path
Nice Coverage
Dimaga is so active, almost every time I open a stream I see him playing...and winning! GJ dude!
Thanks for the awesome work. It's hard to catch all the tournaments so this overview is absolutly amazing!
amazing job! i think compiling and keeping track of all these must have been very hard. keep up the good work!
How much exactly do koreans earn when theres no GSL going on for 2 weeks?
Oh.
Nice, this is very helpful, so many tourneys
For the record, over $10,750 in USD was given out in cash from these tourneys, plus however much went into the "prizes." That's in just under two weeks.

Woah, haha. I didn't actually bother to add it up, but that's more than I expected, especially considering the fact that very low dollar tournaments aren't included, and no massive events went on during this 2 weeks. Thanks for the info.
Great thread. There's so many small tourneys going on nowadays it's almost impossible to keep track of them all.
Would be nice to see the win/loss numbers, too
Nevertheless a very nice summary!
Brilliant work, please keep this up!
Thank you very much for providing this. It's nice to have a complete summary of all the tournaments! Thank you!
The roundup is great! Finally a way for me to see all the tournament results that I missed on one page. Although I look at the ones that I don't want to know the results yet, but that spoiler button is too tempting. Great job all around!.
Maybe u can add the tl-url for the tournaments so we can follow the coverage/VODs etc.?

Click the name of the event you'd like more information on. =)
Really nice, very comprehensive! I found a few FXOpen player wins here that had slipped past me, great stuff.
has this always been around or is this a new addition? in either case, keep em coming, it's good to see winners of various tournaments...gives more exposure to the players that are newer and want to gain some fans!

This is awesome, great to have it back! Nice work.
This is a great thread, will be looking forward to these every two weeks!
Fantastic idea for a feature.
Team Liquid is doing well becoming the essential Starcraft II archive, with the player database, Liquipedia and features like this. Well done.

OVerall (and only counting the winnings mentioned in this roundup), around $11,000 were given out to players.
Wow this OP is very cool. I enjoyed reading that more than I thought I would.
That was a nice read. Thx
this will be so fucking useful, thank you from the buttom of my heart
edit: above may sound like i'm ironic, but i'm not i love this <3
Thank You so much!!! This is awesome. I know Ret didn't win more than assembly, and maybe that was more than two weeks ago too, but anyone feel like that was boss (of course he wouldn't be on the rankings with only the one medal)? Anybody know how much that prize was?
Good god are there ever a lot of tourneys going on. Thanks for the roundup O_O
I...I'm speechless So absolutely perfect. Tournament round-ups is the one thing that's been missing the awesomeness that is TL and now its finally back. Im all tearfilled here ;*) wonderful
Awesome thanks for roundup
Wow this is awesome. Thanks for doing this!
With the outstanding numbers of tournament going on, this roundup is more that welcome and was quite needed. Very nice job here ! Thanks =)

Really love this writeup <3 <3
Great roundup, good to see so much activity in the pro scene.
wow, i missed so many tournaments.
Wonder when the NASL comes into play if pro gamers outside korea could actually make more money competing in both Nasl and MLG.
what about stalife? didn't he win like 200+ in tQ lan tourney?
Interesting for Dimaga. I mean he's completely dissapeared from the Major tournament scene, but apparentely he's still ripping up the Smaller Tournament scene
this writeup sure fill an important niche for people wanting of a singular place to provide them with a regular overview of the scene outside the larger tournaments. i've very recently seen people asking for exactly this in the blogs section
i think soon you'll be doing it weekly and covering all the tournaments one can possibly think of as being worthy of mention, since it's so important to have something like this - you never know when the next sc2 star might emerge from one of these more obscure tournaments
well played, keep'em coming, and thanks for this one
So have combat-ex now won more money on sc2 than chill?
very interesting writeup! I would love to see a money ranking by player of the time period, not only medal ranking?

You're right. I could have swore I changed these for the EU cups, (I likely just copied the format from the US ones), but apparently I overlooked it.
Thanks!

That was 3 days previous to the cutoff. Each of these will cover either the 1st-14th of the month, or 15th-End of the month. For sake of organization, there will be no exceptions. Don't worry though, this will continue to go on, so we won't have any unfortuante timings like this from here on out.
On March 04 2011 03:14 backtoback wrote: what about stalife? didn't he win like 200+ in tQ lan tourney?
If this is what I think you're talking about, it's that tournament which featured rather drawn out qualifiers and a final tournament which didn't make our cut off for prize pool. I believe first place was $75. (I know there's $50 weekly tournies included, but this roundup has various prize-pool cutoffs, which do vary for each tournament type.)
IefNaij won $400 why isn't he 2nd
From February 15~28th. I won $250 from tQ lan tournament (hosted at a lan) I won $75 from the tQ invitational (online event) 2nd place in VG tournament #7 $35 (not sure why the ESL was even counted, only $50 for 1st place
Thank you so much. This makes following tournaments much easier =)

The tQ lan tournament was a regional event, those events have a higher prizemoney cutoff, since the competition is generally less stiff they are so frequent. This thing would go on for days if every regional event was covered. Only larger regional events are covered.
The tQ invitational (barely) didn't meet the prizemoney cutoff for its particular type either. (Individual)
The VG tournament met the prizemoney cutoff, but was not covered due to what has been stated earlier in this thread: If tournament organizers don't even keep track of their tournaments, I certainly can't do that for them. It's important that tournament sites and threads are updated by those running them, and have reasonably accessible data for winners, prizemoney, and dates. (I'm willing to dig quite a bit, but the VG site was difficult to navigate and I still have never found the information there, and the thread which was made on TL for it also remains unupdated.)
ESL was counted because it does indeed meet the prizemoney cutoff for its type. (Weekly)
I'm sorry your tournament wins didn't get credited in this post, but we have to make cutoffs somewhere, and it appears you just happened to win tournaments just below these cutoffs in a couple areas, or that were poorly reported.
On March 04 2011 04:23 Xeris wrote: IefNaij won $400 why isn't he 2nd
It doesn't work that way. It's based upon overall performance, not prizemoney won.
no worries, I just wanted to clear things up as it seemed like you thought tQ invitational was tQ lan tournament.
good job putting this up!
I thought White-Ra must be in here

How did you miss the reddit open? its every saturday with like 350ish$ prize pool.
I think dde won 3 out of the last 4 or something
Hi, this is my first post.
I made a table that counts wins per race. The total line represents the sum of points (gold=3,silver=2,bronze=1). I may have misconted but the diference is so big that it would change the results much. Here you go:
Protoss Terran Zerg Random Unknown Gold 14 12 5 Silver 13 11 4 2 Bronze 4 5 4 1 Points 72 63 27 1 4
Note that I did not include the showmatchs as there are 2 races represented at most. I find the result interesting, but expected from my point of view (I play zerg by the way). What do you guys think?
Edit: The spaces and tabs are ignored so I cant aligne the results so its a bit hard to read.
Damn this is well done. I'm looking forward to many more to come.
Thanks for this!!! :D Btw, for the guy above who made a chart, Suppy is not Terran it's supposed to be Zerg Also LGKangwook also Zerg. For the Feb 26 UC Berkeley Open. 3rd place was random, but that is not listed so w/e
This is good. Very informative, helps keep track of the ever-growing Starcraft world
This is an awesome idea!. Really goes to show the player efforts put in. One correction, it may be too late but the results of Monday Night StarCraft have a small hiccup. FXOSheth and ROOTDdoRo are flopped. link
