Update: The polls for voting for what matchups you want to see cast are now up! Scroll down and vote!

ROOT Gaming, partnered with Justin.tv, Kingston Technology and Nerdstomper, is excited to announce a new invitational tournament! Overall 32 players will be competing in this tournament for a prize pool of $1200! The players are representing 12 different North American server based teams, plus one free agent.

We are also excited to announce the prize scheme. Each round win earns the player a certain amount of money, with increasing tiers as you get closer to the finals. This lets half of the players have some sense of success because they get paid if they win even one round. One of the issues with esports still being a fledgling enterprise is that only the very tip top get rewarded, and even people who do very well and end up in 5th to 8th place often get stuck with little or no money. Hopefully this will go towards making a new trend in tournaments following this new model, which we believe supports the pro gamer community by helping to make being a pro gamer much more viable in terms of income stream. Thus, the name, the ROOT Gaming Success Pays Invitational!

Where: Raelcun and Ic3d on ROOT Gaming's Stream on Justin.tv!

When: Tuesday, Feb 15 8:00pm EST and Wednesday, Feb 16 8:00pm EST

Day 1 - Round of 32 and Round of 16 - We will cast 4 series of the Round of 32 and 2 series of the Round of 16.

Day 2 - Quarter, Semi and Finals - We will cast 2 series of the quarter-finals, both of the semi-final best of 5 series, and the best of 5 finals series.

For the matches we do not stream there will be a replay pack available.

Format: 32 Player Single Elimination - Best of 3 up until Semi-Finals, then Best of 5 for Semi-Finals and Finals

Prizes:

Reaching RO16 - $20 each player - $320 total - $320 overall
Reaching RO8 - $40 each player - $320 total - $640 overall
Reaching RO4 - $50 each player - $200 total - $840 overall
Reaching RO2 - $140 each player - $280 total - $1120 overall
Winner - $170 - $170 total - $1290 overall

The individual players would receive:

$420 for 1st place PLUS a 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM (Kit of 2) XMP X2 Grey Series from Kingston Technology!
$250 for 2nd place PLUS a 128GB HyperX Max External USB 3.0 Drive from Kingston Technology!
$110 for 3rd or 4th place PLUS a 5 slot Lifetime Ventrilo server!
$60 for 5th to 8th place.
$20 for 9th to 16th place.

We will be revealing the match-ups slowly over the course of the coming days. The week before the tournament begins we will open a vote to allow YOU the viewer to pick which matchups our fantastic commentating crew will be casting that day! As a side note, I am proud to note that we have zero mirror matches in the opening round!

A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors, Justin.tv, Kingston Technology and Nerdstomper please visit them and check out their great selection of services and products! ROOT Gaming and all of our sponsors look forward to providing you all with some great quality matches and an exciting tournament. We hope you all tune in to catch the action!

While you are waiting though, we do have some great promotional giveaways provided by our equipment sponsor, Kingston Technology, which we will be announcing later this week!

Rules: Players Please Read!

+ Show Spoiler +
If your match is NOT voted to be cast, then you will begin play at 8 pm EST. If your match IS voted to be cast, we will be casting them in order from the top of the bracket down. You are expected to wait and be ready to go as soon as we finish casting the match prior to yours. I understand that this can sometimes feel like a long wait, especially if you are the last match to be cast in the Round of 32, but please have some patience - we will be proceding with little to no downtime and will hopefully be moving quickly through the bracket.

Map Pool: Scrap Station, Lost Temple, Metalopolis, Shakuras

Every round is going to start on Xel'Naga, loser of the first game picks the next map after the winner gets to veto one map. Vetos only last for that one selection, as in if you're playing a best of 5 and really desperately hate Shakuras you have to veto it every game. Maps may not be repeated except for in the Best of 5 series Xel'Naga can be repicked once. No obs are allowed besides Raelcun and Ic3d. No casting is allowed by either player. No race switching is allowed. For the winner of the match, send me a message on bnet with the results and the winner is expected to save all replays, even those streamed, and email them to me at walamor@gmail.com. If there are any questions shoot me a message, I'll be online as ROOTSunDevil.158

Disconnects: If the winning player disconnects, it is a re-game. If the losing player disconnects, it is a win for the winning player. If it is too close to call it is a regame. Any decisions as to who was winning and who was losing are made solely by me.

All payments will be made over paypal.

If you are more then 15 minutes late without prior approval or knowledge, you will be auto forfeited for that round.

Sounds epic, really hope Gretorp vs Axslav is cast =]. If you guys want to change it up and have multiple casters going day 1 to cover more matches I'm happy to volunteer. Either way should be a great tournament, map pool is good as well!
