I don't get it--don't they release the full names of people in korean? I can understand _us_ being confused, but it seems odd that this confusion would occur in korea.

if people do find out their names, angry angry netizens can find these progamers and hurt them pretty easily.

This is for the safety for everyone. Besides fomos doesn't want to be responsible for some dead Asians.

But I'm pretty sure kespa does.

No, it isn't. It's enough to live off of for maybe a couple months, at the price of any goals or dreams they may have had in progaming, a criminal record, and the loss of their reputation.

I think people are just overreacting, this will blow over. If this leads to convictions, people will serve fines or what not (possibly jailtime but I doubt it), and everyone else will move on (a bit wiser). People just love drama, so things always seem bigger than they are.
I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

Well that's only if they get caught! which eh... but you get how easy it is to overlook shit.

To all of you who are calling these progamers pieces of shit, etc:

Most of you would have probably done the same thing given a choice.

Not saying what these people did was justified but I'm not going to come down too hard on them.

Unlikey, while everyone has their price, i don't see savior (or anyone) intensionally loosing a final unless they were paid a lot of money, and supposedly most of the payoffs were 5kish. Also, bisu was a dominant player for a long time after savior, making it unlikely that it was a fluke.

It's really saddening to see a scandal like this erupt, particularly in the high-class world of e-sports. A lot of us look up to these people as more than gamers, as real role models who dedicate their lives to the love of the game.

Today is a sad day for e-sports. Good night, Ma Jae Yoon...

the speculated winning rate for savior was insanely high though, making it rather likely for him to drop that game.
