I don't know if I said it in this thread or in a PM, but I suggested putting an IRC on a different network than the TL channel plus using hidden, secret, and invite only modes.
Instead, they made an IRC channel on quakenet with no security whatsoever.

ugh for real. it's not hard to make it passworded. mafia 2 we had our channel on gamesurge, passworded. mafia 3 it was on quakenet with a pw but we just used fake names (mafia 3 sucked anyway though). i just feel like it was such a waste to actually try and play the game when shit like this happens.
granted i was part of the mafia in game 2 when LTT infiltrated as Lenwe, and brilliantly so may i add, although i didn't even know about that until after it happened. and then Mandalor found Plexa's partial list of blues. So i am certainly not free of all guilt, having been associated with cheating, but honestly in this game i feel it was far worse.

In mafia 2 none of us felt like it was cheating (at least from what I know).

I finally read the build-up to my death instead of red bum kills blue showtime but dies to nelson.
A burlesque house? really? and making fun of bums cause they can't pay, that's just rude.
And how did I fit the role of anti? I'm sure you didn't want to give it away right away, but I don't see any connection from the 2 lines he got.

i was only in there one or twice.
i wrote a script that monitored all the members in the teamliquid irc channel. it tried to join all channels that the other members were also in.
ones that were passworded peaked my curiosity. there wasnt much discussed in non-passworded channels. i think yours was y-gorilla or something
i modified the program to keep trying to join the channel, hoping that everybody might leave and i can sneak in.
then it was simply a matter of hiding myself in the channel using user modes (+D i think). it makes you invisible unless you talk.
i only was in there a few times. long enough to piece together who your members were and the few blue roles that were discussed.
i did the same to the townie channel. i dont think theirs was passworded at first. but they also didnt discuss much. just enough for me to get some more blue roles.
i really didnt spend that much time in there tho. i monitored it for a few days at most.

I dont know but I think that mafia should be more of clues personality reading and less about irc..

I really never got a chance to flesh your role out but in the beginning of the game you were opposing Caller so much. I had the first scene written where you sat directly across from Sephiroth (the leader) so it seems like you were opposing the leadership (MTF was also mayor too).
It would probably have been even clearer if they didn't kill you early.
the burlesque house was just a setting, because Showtime! was a hooker.

This is from our POV, from the beginning, more in depth than Caller's laziness. Speaking of that, Caller and my pm exchange was hilarious. Mine were always super long, and I'm not quite sure if Caller every actually read them fully haha, because his were generally pretty brief and he'd always ignore certain points that I made and I'd have to ask them several times haha.
Amidst this whole MTF's mafia got infiltrated by irc, our stringent security procedures for THREE people (showtime/caller/myself) were hilarious. Fake names, confirming by pm, a rotating channel server and pw, changing names every time. MTF, how didn't you guys learn from the LTT debacle?
Plexa trying to go for pardonner like that wasn't a huge deal in itself although scary with all the random townie mishaps, but his bandwagon list which was likely was composed of a few mafia and a lot of stupid townies. The difficulty was separating them and getting a votelist, which we never managed to do because DTs were either retarded and/or afk. KH was the only 'solid' one, but he drew fire to himself by abstaining from voting. I even commented on this in irc saying how suspicious it was of being a role and Caller's like huh, not suspicious at all, he roleclaimed townie (since we suspected showtime) while pming me "I lied like a dog he's DT."
As for day 2, originally in irc we were talking about drawing a ton of fire to showtime and putting the martyr on him. But then afterwards (showtime had to sleep) I was worried about MTF killing all the bgs and offing Caller instantly (probably needless, as he felt too), so the martyr got put on Caller, while all the medics on me, leaving showtime to rot lol. I went silent, not wanting to draw any more fire to myself than had been done in the mayor election. But we simply underestimated how much knowledge both mafia had and how stupid the bgs had been acting. I actually had written that order filled post by Showtime of who to vote for and threats if not etc to get him to draw more fire. But either the mafia were only interested in blues or something. I am really curious though why I was never targeted by Showtime was.
Here's the thing: Caller's a medic. He was checked by TWO DTs (who were proven innocent by deaths, although bluemanrocks only died on day 2). There is a 0% chance that Caller can be mafia. At least that's how it *should* be. The problem was that I got lazy about confirming this and didn't message KH the first day. Then I messaged bluemanrocks as soon as day 2 happened asking to confirm if Caller was a medic (because he could be towny->godfather and the dts would assume he's fine since he only told me showtime mtf that hes medic) but here's the thing: he never messaged me back. Then he messaged Caller and told him that I did this lol, which Caller then told me about it (but I never saw the actual message). That made me go from 100% guarantee of innocence to...is bluemanrocks a mafia plant and Caller their traitor/godfather? Caller and I actually had several messages between each other going: "lol" or "you sure got me," as semi-jokes/real suspicion given all this leakage or whatever.
All you townies who complain you weren't in on the fun should look at their own actions. I was a townie, I had no previous game experience (which is why Caller/Showtime got together), and lost the mayor election because MTF is godfather. Yet I still was the man behind the scenes because I figured things out and put in time to do so.
On the same note, people who are complaining about the 'inner circle' not sharing information don't understand the situation. First of all, under one of the plans we were deliberately would hide information then give out false information to make the mafia hit each other. Another thing was simply that we *couldn't* say these people should be up for killing or some are guilty out of this list, because then mafia. I put in a lot of red herrings into whatever posts I made post mayor election because we simply couldn't give information. Although again, a huge amount was rendered useless by the Lucchese gaining so much information so fast so it was kinda moot. Actually on day 1 I just thought they targeted suspicious people (since they were clearly targeting randoms hoping for blues, i,e bockit or xcetron) and happened to snag 5 mafia, since reducing the mafia's killing power so quickly is a pretty questionable move. If they had a list I would've thought they'd have done 1-2 a day to slowly get that advantage and take out the town faster.
Shadowdrgn, I had confirmed that list as legit as first because a) a lot of people I was suspecting were on it (mynock bugz randombum blue arrow mtf) and because checks on the people who were left over fit. For example, Qatol (who I was surprised as hell at being on the list since my behavior analysis of him gave him a 95% chance of innocence) gave me an analysis of mayor voting later on..and get this, not a single member of MTF's known family and everybody on that list was anything but 'some variation of likely innocent' or blank. And for some people the analysis it was so blatantly questionable, like putting heros)pink as 'logical thoughts' or something lol. So I thought, this list from shadowdrgn has to be legit now haha. At the time I thought it was funny and weird how the list we had gotten was almost entirely composed of people voting for MTF to get him away from me, but just thought it was a dumb mistake.
It only really began to be questioned much later when Heros)Pink acted so blatantly MTF mafiaish that I thought no way, he must be a Lucchese traitor trying to make this look legit and shadowdrgn had just grabbed people from the MTF vote list and randomly chosen ghostclaw.
